Owen loved teaching high school, in spite of the daily stream of teenagers with attitudes, racing hormones, and smartphones that linked them to everywhere but the classroom.
Education was his passion. He credited an old science teacher for inspiring him when he was a teenager. Owen had hated science and his grades had reflected that. But Mr. Parker had managed to reach him through his hands-on, experimental teaching, awakening an interest in Owen. For the first time, he’d earned A’s in a science class.
