“Are you sure you want to be here? Shouldn’t you be in the hospital bed like the good doctor suggested?” Mac’s voice drifted in and out of my mind because he wasn’t wrong, I should be in the hospital. There was a literal bullet hole in my left shoulder and a two inch gash that the doctor had stitched up and told me to have bedrest for at least two days with all the other bruises that decorated my body.
But I couldn’t do that, not if it meant leaving the little hellcat to her own devices any longer than I already have and I had a feeling she was up to no good. I had only gone for a day and I already think it was too much time that Katlyn had used for something I wouldn’t like. If it hadn’t been for Erica, I wouldn't have left. But Gabe needed me and Erica was a friend in danger. B
