Axel POV
Goddess his life was a mess and Axel was aware it was mess of his own making. Honestly he didn’t have any excuse other than he was a f**k up. Axel returned to his pack and was greeted by his beta and his mate. Heath already knew it was bad by just looking at him. Heath gave him a sympathetic look and asked gently,
“What happened?”
“She rejected me,” he stated and then stomped of to his room like a hormonal preteen. Axel heard Wayne say,
“I told you he would screw this up,” Heath tried to shush him, but Axel just ignored him. Axel didn’t need to hear from another person that he considered family how he destroyed his life. He already heard that enough. They were right.
Axel was exhausted from the travel but couldn’t sleep so he decided to go to his office. Nathan was right, hell everyone was right but him. He just didn’t know if he could salvage it. Axel spent the evening working on an invoice for the services his mate performed since discovering they were mates. The job took awhile because it’s been several years and like several people told him, he was an a*s who abused the mate bond and called on Svetlana for any little thing.
Rogue interrogations, call Svetlana.
Trouble with the pack boundaries, call Svetlana.
Warriors injured and need healing, call Svetlana.
Stubbed his toe, call Svetlana.
Not the last one, but that’s the gist. Svetlana would actually probably like to be called about the last one, as our relationship would have been making progress. Talking about his personal life would have meant progress and Axel wouldn’t want that.
Axel came from generations of emotionally closed off asshole alpha bear shifters. His first mate not only left him, but had him beaten unconscious by rogues and then almost stole his pack. The b***h would have succeeded if Liliana hadn’t managed to get him the keys to the cells. Of course he was an asshole and told the story like he did everything. Lili didn’t mind and simply smiled at him like the little sister she was to him. That hurt the most when Lili refused to talk to him before he left. She just had her mates tell him that she was disappointed in him. That s**t hurts. Axel didn’t have any siblings, only Heath who was his cousin. He had gotten close with Lili despite the fact that they were wolf’s.
Looking back Axel couldn’t say what it was that made him pull away from Svetlana. He didn’t know if it was because she was a witch, there was a big stigma of witches. The age difference, her daughter, or his first mate. It didn’t matter, the damage was done and Axel had to live with it. Axel checked the time and it was around four in the morning. He went to his room to try and sleep.

Natasha pov
Lex had been odd for the past few days, but Nat couldn’t put her finger on what exactly it was. When Nat wanted to get intimate Alex would pull away from her. She knew they had their problems as friends and in their own life’s, but he wasn’t going to reject her was he? Alex had a lot of problems with his father as he abused Alex when he wasn’t able to master a new form of magic as timely as his father believed he should.
As children the two of them bonded as they had high expectations placed on them at such a young age. Natasha was the only Volkov heir and was expected to lead the coven unless her father had children with his wick. It didn’t matter that she was the oldest, if her father had a child with Julie Natasha would immediately be cast aside. Natasha didn’t know this until she moved with her grandparents, so she had hard expectations to live up to despite her fathers clear love for her. Lex in comparison only felt a mothers love, but his mother was similar to her father. It was a hard life for both of them growing up, and the scars never left them. Natasha believed this is what was hindering their bond.
That wasn’t the only issue weighing her down. Natasha has been having reoccurring headaches for the last couple of days. She can’t figure out the reason why, or how to make them go away. Natasha tried healing teas, herbs, and even the human route of pain killers to make them go away.
Lili is definitely a saint for dealing with these for years. Natasha remembered Lili talking about her struggle of being sick as well as having migraines before they met. Nat brought up getting ahold of Lili the other night as they sat in their room and ate. Lex lost his s**t. Lex threw his plate across the room, took her phone, and banned her from contacting that mangy mutt ever again.
Natasha was beyond shocked. Lex hadn’t acted like that since they were kids. Nat tried to go through her memories of a time he had been violent with her specifically, but the harder she thought the worst her head started to hurt until she threw up from the piercing pain in her head. Natasha didn’t understand as she laid down in the bathroom completely wrung out from throwing up. When she exited the bathroom Nat called for Alexei.
“Alexei.” She looked around the room they had been given, but it was clear he was gone. Natasha walked the mansion and looked for her wick unable to find him. Natasha found herself in the walking though garden. She eventually sat down on a bench and couldn’t stop herself from wondering how vampires were able to grow such beautiful roses.
“They do most of the tending at night,” a voice said from behind her. Nat turned around and saw her ex-boyfriend behind her.
“Hello Stephan it’s good to see you,” Natasha said with a smile. Stephan smiled and sat down next to her.
“How have you been? It’s been years,” Stephan said with a smile on his face.
“I’ve been good, are you apart of this clan?” Natasha asked and Stephan laughed shaking his head negative.
“No, I’m just helping out. I’m part of the cliche.”
“What do you mean?” She asked him confused.
“I’m from Transylvania.” He said in a stage whisper and Natasha couldn’t help but laugh.
“You are right that is pretty cliche, and are you reading my mind again?” Stephan shook his head negative,
“No I promised after our last fight, I couldn’t help but see the question in your eyes.” Natasha couldn’t help but laugh.
“Natasha!” Alexei’s voice screamed and Natasha looked to see him come stomping toward her. “What are you doing?” Alex asked in a huff clearly jealous. Nat smiled thinking it was a bit cute.
“Stephan, this is Alexei my wick. Lex this is Stephan my ex-boyfriend we were just catching up.” Stephan put his hand out to shake, but Alexei just ignored it.
“Nice to meet you.” Alexei grabbed her hand and started walking out of the garden.
“It was nice catching up!” Natasha yelled over her shoulder as Alex dragged her out of the garden and into the mansion. Lex didn’t speak to her until they walked into their room. Then he exploded.
“I leave you for an hour to come back and find you flirting with your ex?” Alexei roared in her face. Natasha became terrified and curled into herself.
“I’m sorry!”
“You should be!” He roared as he backed her into a corner and punched the wall next to her head which caused her to scream.
“Pack your s**t! We are leaving in the morning.” Alexei walked away and went into the bathroom. Natasha didn’t question him, she simply packed her things while tears ran down her cheeks.

Stephan pov
Stephan watched as Natasha’s wick pulled her away and he couldn’t help but be bothered by the scene. While they dated Stephan cared for Natasha cared for her quite a bit. They dated for two years but separated as he had to return to ascend the throne. That’s right he was a Prince and a Blue Blood. Which meant he was born a vampire, and could walk in the sun unlike most vampires.
Stephan would eventually find his beloved, but there was no telling when he would find her. The same with witches as they are both immortals. He was close to one hundred years old.
Stephan felt the whole situation with Natasha and the other wizard was odd. Stephan didn’t know much about Nat’s family, she refused to open up to him about it. Stephan did know she was Luka Volkov’s daughter. He thought phoning the coven wouldn’t hurt anyone.
It took all night for him to get the correct phone number. No one had it or knew who to get into contact with. Stephan finally received the number than dialed it.
“Volkov Coven how May I direct your call?” A woman answered.
“I need to speak to Luka Volkov please,” he said with respect in his voice. Luka Volkov make that coven what it was today.
“I’m sorry-“ the woman said but Stephan interrupted.
“It’s King Stephan of the Transylvania Vampires.”
“Hold on let me see if he’s available.” The woman said and placed him on hold.
“I’m sorry but Mr. Volkov is dealing with his daughters issues at the moment.” The woman told him and Stephan was confused.
“Well that’s what I’m calling about.”
“What?” The woman asked taken aback.
“I’m calling about his daughter,” Stephan clarified. Stephan could hear the phone drop and then he heard some rustling. Then a whooshing sound,
“What do you know about my daughter?” A voice behind him asked, Stephan turned around and saw a man with black hair and average height.
“Hi I’m..”
“Yeah I know, King Stephan, you used to date my daughter in college. What do you know of my daughter.” The man who Stephan assumed was Luka asked.
“How did you find me?” Stephan asked confused.
“We tracked your cell phone,” he said exasperated. “My daughter?”
“She’s here, upstairs.”
“What?” Luka asked shocked.
“Ya with-“
“Alexei Patrovi. That bastard took her. Where is he? Her?” Stephan started waking toward the room the clan assigned to the two of them.
“So he’s not her wick?” Stephan asked. Luka shook his head,
“No he is, but Natasha was having issues accepting the bond. Then he took her.” They arrived at the room and Luka flung the door
Open with magic.
“What the hell? Where are they?” Luka demanded. Stephan looked around and saw the empty room.
“I don’t know, they were here just a few hours ago.”
“Damn it!” Luka screamed clearly frustrated at just missing his daughter. Stephan was worried about Natasha as well. He hoped where ever she was that Alexei wasn’t hurting her.
