A beautiful Monday morning welcomed me as I walked out from the dorm building. I was feeling a bit happy and cheery today.
The sun's warmth was engulfing my precious skin and don't you just love that feeling?
Wondering why I felt so good on a Monday morning?
Well, it's because I had a good dream last night. And it makes me giddy whenever I think of it.
I walked past the fountain as I entered the school's main building with a dreamy look upon my face as I replayed the dream I had last night in my head.
I was entering a very beautiful garden and it was already dark at night. The only thing that lightened my path were the candles placed on each side of the cemented trail.
There was a guy in black tux standing at the center of the garden, holding a piece of white rose.
I smiled warmly at him as I took slow strides towards him.
He had his back facing towards me but I can still sense a sweet smile forming on his lips.
I was only a few feet away from him as I was about to tap his shoulders. He was about to turn around to face me but suddenly a piercing noise interrupted and the guy, the beautiful garden and everything just disappeared in thin air.
I frowned as I remembered the alarm clock screeched and woke me up from my beautiful dream.
Stupid, alarm clock.
When you're having a good dream, that's the time it'll interrupt you. But if you're having a nightmare, it's silent as heck and it won't even bother you. It obviously loves to watch me suffer.
Sigh.
I masked my frown away as I entered the classroom. I was once again welcomed with the noise of continuous chatting and laughing and farting by the rascals.
"Good morning, guys!" I shouted with a smile as I placed my backpack on the table.
Everyone refrained from chatting or whatever they were doing and gave me their attention.
"Good morning, sunshine!" Kirt winked as he shifted his sitting position.
"Good morning, Sarah Greene." The others simultaneously greeted back, but more like a tease since they already know my name.
I rolled my eyes and giggled quietly.
"So your name's Sarah Greene, huh." Xavier said as he entered the room from the front door and walked past me towards his chair.
"You're late," I stated and he shrugged as he took a seat.
"A king is never late, babe." He winked at me smugly and crossed his arms over his chest.
"And Xavier Walton is back!" Kido announced as he tapped the shoulder of Xavier.
"Where you been, man?" Henry asked as he shifted on his seat to face him.
Xavier shrugged and replied, "Business."
"Oh, I get it." Henry nodded in understanding and sat comfortably on his seat.
What kind of business was he talking about?
Okay, that's clearly none of my business.
Whatever, Sarah.
"So," Xavier trailed off, now looking at me. "What did I miss?"
I glared at him and rolled my eyes.
"You missed a one thousand push-ups, five hundred sit ups and an hour of planking, man." Cremo answered him for me.
"Harsh," he commented, still looking at me with a raised eyebrow.
I don't understand the meaning of his look towards me but it says something in a smug way.
"t*****e, man," Cremo added, "Real torture."
"So our teacher's giving you a hard time?" He asked Cremo yet his eyes never left mine.
I glared at him again and he smirked.
Cremo nodded saying, "Oh yes, man. She's a tough one. But I like her."
Xavier broke off our stare contest and whipped his head to face Cremo. He raised an eyebrow and glared at him.
"You like her?" He asked with a clenched jaw, sounding a bit offensive.
"Y-yeah," Cremo shrugged a bit hesitantly.
Xavier scoffed in reply and looked away, crossing his arms over his chest while muttering something under his breath.
I rolled my eyes.
"Everyone, listen up!" I hollered as I clap my hands to grab their attention. "For today's class, we will be watching a movie."
"Oh yeah!" Ashton shouted as he lifts his fist in the air.
I rolled my eyes and giggled. "Oh yeah, it is, because you'll be watching a chick flick, mister."
Everyone's face fell into a frown and I laughed mockingly at their expressions.
"Don't worry guys. This isn't only a film showing session but this is also a graded test." I stated. "Whoever passes the test, will be graded with an A."
"So what movie are we watching?" Henry asked with arms crossed on his chest.
A smile crept into my lips as I took the DVD from my backpack and held it up for everyone to see.
"A Walk to Remember," I announced.
Everyone groaned and I stifled a laugh.
"Did anyone of you watch this movie already?" I asked and they all shook their heads.
I nodded and chirped, "Great. Now let's start."
We all watched the movie silently and as I turned to look at the boys, some of them were already asleep and snoring their heads off. I shook my head and sighed.
I stole a glance at Xavier who was watching the movie intently, surprisingly. I turned my attention back to the movie and it was already the part where both the lead characters were happily enjoying the night of their first date.
I wonder how that feels. I mean, going on your first date. I've never been on a date before. No one has ever asked me back in my town.
Now that I think of it, I was really an outcast back then. Geez.
The movie went well until the end. The credits rolled and I stood up to switch the lights back on.
I heard a quiet sob from one of the boys and I smiled as I found Cremo wiping the tears that rolled down from his eyes.
"Don't be such a baby, Crem!" Henry annoyingly exclaimed as he flushed into embarrassment.
"Shut up, Henry!" Cremo sneered as he composed himself. "Didn't you see the movie? The ending was so sad!"
The others started laughing and started teasing Cremo for crying like a girl.
I rolled my eyes at them and sighed, trying not to giggle at the cute Cremo.
"Shhh!" I hissed as I slap my hand on my desk. "Everyone, settle down!"
The noise finally subsided as they turned their attention back towards me.
"Cremo, why did you cry?" I asked sincerely as Cremo looked up to me with eyes moistened.
The others quietly giggled and I sent them a glare before I averted my attention back to Cremo.
"The girl died," he sobbed like a cute kid. "And... I felt sad for the guy; for their love. It wasn't a happy ending."
Rick scoffed from behind and sulked in his seat. I sent him a glare and he just rolled his eyes in return.
"Love doesn't need a happy ending," Xavier interjected like it was a statement and everyone turned their heads to him.
I found him looking at me as he said those words with clear sincerity in his tone.
"Love shouldn't need an ending, because love should be endless. Even if we die, love is always there, and forever will be." He continued, his stare not leaving mine as I stood at my desk a bit surprised at his words.
"Happy ending's a choice, if you want to live happily or miserably; then you'll get your ending. And most of us choose to live unhappily because we thought that happiness was nowhere to be found." He averted his gaze back to the boys who listened to him seriously saying, "That's why those monsters threw us here in hell academy, right?"
Everyone nodded and I find myself amused at how serious they were listening to Xavier.
"But then, one day, when you thought that you will always be miserable; that you will never get a chance to be happy; that you will always drown in pain, hurt, sadness, anger and agony," he said as he looked back to me. "Someone shows up... and completely saves you from drowning."
"Someone, who can give you hope of a happy ending..." He trailed off, still his eyes on me and a small smile escaped from his lips, "...of a happily ever after."
"Wow," Cremo uttered and he started clapping, then everyone followed except for me. I was too amazed and amused at his words that it overwhelmed me.
Good words from the bad boy huh.
"That was really deep, dude." Kido said nodding.
Xavier cut his stare at me and chuckled softly at Kido's remark.
"I didn't know you have those words in you, Mr. Walton." I complimented, amused. A small smile crept its way on my lips as I clap along with the others.
He looked back at me and smirked. "It's Xavier, ma'am. And I'm expecting an A." He winked and averted his attention to Kirt who was giving him a high five.
I rolled my eyes.
All those beautiful words just for an A, well of course.
Wise, Xavier, very wise. You almost got me there.
Suddenly the bell rang for dismissal and everyone stood up to go to their next class.
I took the DVD out from my laptop and turned off the projector.
I sensed that someone was looking at me, so I glanced up to that person across the room and saw Xavier walking up towards me.
"Hey," someone said from my side as I closed my laptop, making Xavier halt from his tracks.
I glanced at Xavier's annoyed face before I turned to face the person who just greeted me.
"Ethan," I smiled.
Ethan looked at me and smiled before he gave a glance at Xavier.
"I'm free right now," Ethan grinned as he looked back at me. "Want to have lunch?"
"So it's true! Ethan Scott is having a little crush on our teach," Xavier smugly interjected as he walked up to us.
What is this guy talking about? He's obviously out of his mind.
Then I realized that we were the only ones left in the room.
I saw Ethan clenched his jaw, yet he managed to pull a smile when he turned to face Xavier who was now standing in front of us.
"Xavier Walton, the great king..." Ethan retorted. "...of hell."
Xavier clenched his jaw and his fists as he glared at a smirking Ethan; annoyance was evident on his eyes.
Oh my flip, this doesn't feel good.
"Uh..." I uttered as I bit my inner lip. "I should just go..."
"Sarah," Xavier called, which made me jolt a bit in surprise, but his eyes still glaring at Ethan.
Wait, he called me by name!
"You choose," he said with gritted teeth, their game stare was still not breaking, "Lunch with him...or with me."
Are you freaking serious!? I couldn't choose between you two!
"Uh..." was all I could utter. Way to go, Sarah.
Xavier rolled his eyes and looked at me as he grabbed my wrist.
"You're obviously coming with me." He stated as he slung my backpack on my shoulder and dragged me along with him out of the room.
"Xavier!" Ethan yelled as he followed us to the hallway. "You didn't even let her choose!"
"No need, buddy." Xavier smirked. "I am her choice, right?" He glanced at me and sent a wink. I was too dragged along to care. His tight grip on my wrist hurts!
"Xavier, you're not allowed take your teacher out for lunch!" Ethan hollered in the empty hallway, except for us.
"That applies to you too, buddy." Xavier retorted with a smirk on his face.
"Students aren't allowed to date their teachers!" Ethan yelled as he continued to follow us from behind.
"No such rule in this school." Xavier replied smugly. "Sarah's just my age."
What!
"Xavier!" Ethan yelled as we entered the elevator.
"Geez, Scott. Back off. She's mine!" Xavier spurted out before the elevator door closed.
My eyes widened at everything that just happened. Xavier's grip on my wrist was still there. I think he's not planning on releasing it.
"Plus, I'm the great king of hell, aren't I?" He muttered to Ethan who wasn't around anymore, or maybe, more to himself.
Silence crept between us for a moment.
Then a ding sound came indicating our arrival at the... I looked at the buttons and was surprised to see a BASEMENT!?
The door opened and an awesome basement came into view with a lot of luxurious cars parked everywhere!
My mouth flew open at the beautiful cars in front of me. Xavier chuckled from beside me and he closed my mouth with his finger.
I glared at him as he went off the elevator, releasing his grip on my wrist.
"Just so you know, you're getting an F for doing that to Ethan." I muttered as I followed him.
He shrugged and said, "That ain't sound right, teacher. Ethan has nothing to do with my grades."
And here we go, back again to teacher.
I rolled my eyes. "Where are you taking me?"
"Paradise," he replied as he walked towards a sexy white Lamborghini.
"Seriously, where are you taking me!?" I insisted.
"Geez, babe. How many times would I tell you that I'm taking you to Paradise?" He retorted as he climbed into the Lambo, a bit irritated.
I pointed at the car with eyes wide open. "You own this car?" I gasped.
He shrugged and smirked, "I own all of these cars." He winked at me as I gape in astonishment, before he closed the car's door.
"Get in," he ordered and then started the engine.
"Are you going to gape there forever?"
"Oh, right!"
I scooted towards the passenger's side and slipped into the car quickly.
The car roared before it drove off out of the back of the school.
"Aren't students allowed to go out from school premises?" I asked.
"Not when you're with the son who owns it." He winked and continued to drive out of the woods.
Son of the owner!?
He's the son of the owner of Rich Boys Academy!?
"Y-you're t-the son of the-- owner!?" I gasped.
He frowned and his eyebrows creased, "Nothing good about it, babe."
The owner was a girl, right? So that means, the owner was his mom!?
"OH. MY. FLIPPIN'. COW!" I exclaimed. "I am so dead! I am so dead! Your mom's gonna kill me!"
"And why would she kill you?"
"Because I sneaked out of school with his effin' son during school hours!"
He chuckled. "If that's true, then every kid who sneaked out from school with their girl would've been killed already by their mothers."
My eyebrows furrowed. "You said, their girl."
He nodded. "Yeah, what's wrong with that?"
"N-nothing."
He chuckled. "Don't worry babe, you can be my girl if you want to." He winked and I glared at him.
"Over my dead body!" I snorted.
"I wouldn't be your choice if you didn't want to," he winked again.
I groaned. "You dragged me and literally forced me to go with you!"
"But you didn't say anything," he teased.
"Because my wrist hurts!" I protested.
He laughed mockingly, "Yeah, babe. Whatever helps you live."
"Shut up, Xavier! And don't call me babe! I am your teacher!" I hissed as I crossed my arms on my chest.
He chuckled then fraudulently cooed, "Aww, you called me Xavier."
"Whatever." I rolled my eyes and averted my attention to the view from a distance while he was happily laughing at me.
"That's a town," I said as we got closer to the view.
He stopped laughing and replied, "That's Paradise."
My eyes widened and I looked at him, "Really?"
So he really meant what he said earlier that we're going to Paradise...
He rolled his eyes and smiled, "Yes really, Sarah."
A Cheshire cat grin escaped from my lips as I looked at him in a teasingly annoying way.
"You called me Sarah," I cooed fraudulently as I poked him on his arm.
His face dropped and he rolled his eyes as he looked back to the road saying, "Whatever, teacher."
I laughed teasingly at my seat for a few minutes while he tried to ignore me.
"That's a payback, Walton." I poked him again and he sent me one last scary glare that made me shut up.
After a few seconds, he scratched the back of his head and spoke asking, "Do you have a map?"
"What!? Are you saying we're not in the right direction!?" I squealed, a bit panicked at his sudden question.
But the town is just right there! Weird.
He looked at me in the eyes and smiled saying, "No. I'm just getting lost in your eyes."
He smiled smugly at his corny pickup line and I tried my best not to laugh. Luckily, I succeeded. I looked away to the window and giggled quietly to myself.
Stupid, Walton.
"You know," he started talking again. "We have this awesome family doctor back at home. And he's so cool. I mean, he's so good at his profession. Have you been to the doctor lately?"
I looked at him and furrowed my eyebrows. "No. Why would I go to the doctor? I'm not sick."
"Nah, I just think that you're lacking some Vitamin Me." He glanced at me and winked before he averted his eyes back to the road.
I chuckled, not able to control it from coming out from my mouth. "You're the one who seriously need a doctor, Xavier."
"I know, and the doctor said that I am in need of Vitamin U." He smirked and I laughed.
"Shut up, Xavier. You're too corny." I teased.
He chuckled and took his phone out of his jean's pocket. He unlocked his phone and scrolled something on it before he handed it to me.
"Could you check? I'm driving and I think there's something wrong with my phone." He said.
I unlocked his phone and frowned as I checked it. "I think it's okay."
"No, it's not. It doesn't have your number in it." He said and I laughed at his another attempt of corny pickup line.
I shoved the phone back to his hand. "You better shut it Walton or I'll kick your butt."
He laughed... with his real laugh. This is the second time I've heard his real laugh. And I couldn't help myself but smile.
Then I remembered the hurtful words he said to me yesterday.
"Whatever happened in the woods stays in the woods," he said sharply and bluntly. "It was nothing. Forget about everything. It never happened, alright?"
My smile faded into a frown and I looked away back to the window.
I shouldn't be smiling and laughing with him. I should act like I don't like him.
Sarah, do not laugh nor smile at his corny pickup lines. They're just pickup lines!
Exactly why you need to laugh, my subconscious interjected.
I groaned inside my head. I hate you, voice.
"Okay, here's another one." He chirped and I looked at him with a dead serious look upon my face.
His brows furrowed but he ignored my expression and continued to say what he was about to say.
Do not laugh, Sarah, alright?
Do. Not. Laugh.
He flipped his imaginary long hair towards me and a sexy look in his eyes escaped as he winked at me.
"Hey baby, you're so fine you make me stutter, wha-wha-what's your name?"
He winked again and licked his bottom lip and wiggled his eyebrows at me.
Sarah, Do. Not. Laugh.
He seriously look so funny right now.
Do. Not. Laugh.
"Ba dum tss!" He drummed imaginatively.
A smile crept into my lips unwillingly and it wouldn't go away as I try to control a laughter that's about to escape from my mouth.
Do. Not. Laugh.
Xavier was smiling too as he looks back on the road, trying his best not to laugh.
Do. Not. Laugh.
After a few seconds later, laughter erupted throughout the whole car ride. Tears started to well up in my eyes from too much laughter.
This guy is mixing up with my feelings, I just can't...
Oh Xavier, you bad boy.
