CHAPTER FOUR

"Rule number one, Mr. Walton," I lowered as I stood up with the stick on my hand. I looked at him sharply intimidating and crossed my arms on my chest. "Never talk back to a teacher, especially with those rude and insolent remarks."   "I never thought making out is part of being rude, teacher." He sarcastically retorted as he also crossed his arms on his chest. He stared at me intently with those dark eyes of his; the evil smirk not leaving his lips. I glared at him and we were like this for about ten seconds. Yes, I counted.   Everyone was so noisy. They kept talking and laughing and playing punches and teasing and even farting with each other.   Ugh, the disgusting creatures of this world that makes me want to cringe every time.   Keep your calm, Sarah. Maybe they aren't that bad.   "Cat got your tongue, sugar?" Kido Brown teased as he threw a paper at me whom he missed and he cursed under his breath.   "Rule number two," I announced sharply, breaking the stare game between me and the devil. "Do not ever call your teacher nicknames. It is rude and disrespectful."   "Bullsh*t," Kirt Morgan snorted exasperatedly and smugly chuckled.   "Rule number three, Mr. Morgan," I glowered at him as I grasp my stick tighter; indicating my temper rising. "No cussing and or swearing in my class."   "F*ck you," Rick Smith ㅡ Mr. p*****t, sneered as he threw an egg at me but missed it.   I gasped inwardly at this sudden impudent action of his. I glanced at the egg that just hit the whiteboard and was now on the floor. I looked back at him. Why would this jerk bring an egg to class? I clenched my left fist and held the stick tighter with my right hand that I feel like it's going to break if I keep grasping too tight.   So much for being calm.   "Mr. Smith!" I yelled as I bat my stick on the table which echoed in the entire room, grabbing everyone's attention on my blood-boiling self. "Didn't you just hear my third rule? Or are you also deaf!"   The cold and hard tone in my voice shocked everyone. Their eyes widened a bit because of surprise but not including Mr. Devil who was busy looking at his nails. Psh.   "Ooh, did I hit a nerve there, b*tch?" Rick retorted smugly with a smirk.   Wrong move.   Everyone looked at him smiling proudly then back at me, waiting for my response.   I am mad. I am really really really mad. No one called me a 'b*tch' before neither said 'f*ck you' to my face with a lot of stupid males around!   You shouldn't make girls mad. You just shouldn't—we are scary when mad, I tell you. We can do things way out far from your imaginations.   I sighed inwardly and walked intimidatingly towards the seat of Mr. Rude p*****t a.k.a Rick Smith. I attempted to smile my fakest smile but failed. It turned out like a cheeky small smirk instead, but nevertheless, I proceeded to my target.   "Rick," I beamed fakely with my small smirk as I pointed my stick to his arm chair. I stared at him dead in the eyes and shook my head sweetly saying, "I'm very disappointed on you. You're good-looking, rich and all but you're an insolent kid."   He grinned proudly of himself when I said 'good-looking' and 'rich'. Pfft.   "But," I continued, trailing off. My smirk faded into a grim. "I suggest you leave my class... d*ck head."   "Wooaah," everyone roared except for Mr. Devil who's knowingly still staring at those beautiful unpolished nails of his but this time, with a small smirk on his lips. He was sitting at the back of Rick, by the way.   Rick stood up, clearly towering me with his 5'10" height. He had a scowl yet offended look upon his face. "What did you just call me, b*tch?"   "I said," I lowered calmly with gritted teeth and glared at him, also clenching my left fist. "Get the hell out of my class... Rick Smith."   He narrowed his eyes on mine and squinted, obviously sending me a message that this isn't our last encounter. "Gladly, Miss Fake Face." He said and trudged out the room. Before he slammed the door close, he cursed loudly saying, "f*cking b*tch!"   "Is Rick Smith the definition of a d*ck head?" Cremo Adams asked with his eyebrows furrowed, innocently waiting for an answer.   Henry, his twin brother and seatmate, smacked him on the back of his head which made Cremo shot a scowled face at Henry.   Poor, thingy.   Everyone started to be noisy again. They're back at their talking and laughing and punching and farting games. They acted like nothing happened—at all.   "That was quite entertaining," Mr. Devil said as he averted his eyes to me. I looked back at him when he rose from his chair, stifled a yawn, and started walking towards the door.   "And where do you think you're going, Mr. Walton?" I exclaimed before he can open the door.   He spun around to face me and smirked his evilly again but it was quite weak this time. "Sleep." Then he exited the room before I could respond.   I sighed exasperatedly and walked my way towards my table. I plopped down grudgingly on my seat. I buried my face in my hands and let out a heavy sigh.   Everyone's so annoyingly noisy that it makes me go deaf. And the room was starting to smell bad because of all the farting they've done! They are so disgusting!   Papers were thrown everywhere, some were busy vandalizing their own arm chairs with permanent markers, some were busy nodding their heads as they listen to the song playing on their headphones, some were showing off their freestyle dancing and some were singing horribly.   I felt like my ears were going to bleed out because of the intense noise that was inside this room.   What am I going to do?   My plan to act like a cold, strict, intimidating, scary teacher failed. They don't even listen.   I shook my head in disdain. I didn't even prepare for a Plan B. I sighed heavily as I stood up.   "Class," I called out calmly. No one bothered to listen. I sighed again.   This noise need to stop.   "Everyone, listen up!" I yelled. Still, no one bothered to listen.   I smashed my stick to the table which made everyone flinch including me from the sharp echo it resulted in the room. I quickly composed myself and cleared my throat since everyone was silent.   "What is it that you want?" I asked, sharply. "What is it that you want me to do so that you would have some respect to even listen to me!?"   "Resign," Kirt answered bluntly. And everyone laughed and started to get noisy again, ignoring my existence.   I exhaled heavily and took the boom box from the cart and placed it on the table. I pressed the play button and the song of my childhood played.   I love you, you love me   We're a happy family   with a great big hug   and a kiss from me to you   won't you say, you love me too?   Everyone was silent, looking at me with a what-the-hell-is-she-doing expression on their faces. Some even gaped, confused. Well, most of their eyes were a bit wider than usual and their eyebrows were creased.   "How about we start our first lesson for this semester, kids?" I chirped fraudulently as I clapped my hands.   No one dared to speak up. They all look stunned and didn't even move a finger.   I fraudulently giggled. "I mean, let's start our GMRC class with a song. How about we sing it altogether, shall we?"   I looked at Cremo and flashed him a sweet smile. "Cremo, why don't you start?" He shook his head unwillingly.   I shrugged saying, "Okay, I'll start it then."   I clapped my hands with the beat as I started to sing along with the song, "I love you, you love me. We're best friends like friends should be..."   "She is so f*cked up," Kido said as his eyes widened and shook his head in disdain. I stopped singing and glared at him.   "Rule number three, Mr. Brown!" I scowled at him.   He stood up and grabbed his bag. "I'm outta here."   "Get back here, Kido Brown!" I yelled before he could get out the door.   Everyone stood up and followed, exiting the room.   "Where the hell are you going? Sit down! Get back in here! Everyone!" I yelled yet no one bothered to listen or even glance at me. They all exited their way towards the back door and left me alone in the room.   I smacked my hand on the table but not too hard and sat back on my chair. I groaned loudly. "This is not what I thought my first day would be!" I smacked the table again with my hand. I sighed heavily and let my face fell to the table.   "That didn't even last an hour! This school is hell." I groaned to myself and regrets about taking this job rushed into my mind.   "I hate boys," I added, talking to none other else but my pitiful self. "Rude, insolent, impudent, arrogant, cocky, disrespectful, pathetic hot rich boys!"   The music from the boom box stopped and I looked up to see who stopped it.   "Ethan," I half whispered as my eyes started to get a bit teary. I got up and sat properly as Ethan smiled at me sweetly.   "A girl like you should never frown," he sweetly said and flashed me a cute smile. A tear fell from my right eye and he quickly wiped it with his thumb. "It messes up the pretty face under that thick makeup."   I let out a chuckle and he also did. "That's right. You look better when you smile."   "And so do you." I blushed, returning the compliment. He chuckled again.   "Come on," he said as he gestured his head to the door. "We need to freshen you up a bit." He extended his hand to me.   Without any ado, I nodded and took his hand. He helped me to get up. He let go of my hand and started to walk towards the door. I followed him.   * * *   He handed me a can of coke that he just bought from the cafeteria. I took it without any doubt and drank all of it in one gulp.   "Woah, take it slow." He joked as he leaned his back on his car and drank his own can of coke.   We are in the middle of nowhere but the woods. He took me outside the school premises where his car was still parked before the school's gate; so that I can relax and breathe some fresh air.   I wiped my lips with the back of my hand after I drank the coke and I sighed in relief. "That place was t*****e!" I shouted as I pointed harshly at the huge gates that was in front of me. "Those boys were animals!" I threw the canned coke to the gates but it landed just near me. I frowned and kicked the ground.   Ethan let out a chuckle after he took a sip from his drink. "I agree, that place can be t*****e—even for those animals."   I rolled my eyes and let out a loud sigh. "This place pisses me off!" I complained. "Everything doesn't seem right. The location is out of nowhere! I don't even know if I'm still standing on the American continent anymore. The school's name annoys me so much! It's so cocky and arrogant. Also, the VIP hallway I live in alone scares the heck out of me! Plus, all those one thousand boys are trying to kill me! Well, not literally. But still!"   "Ouch." He fraudulently clenched his chest where his heart resides as if he was offended and pouted. "I'm one of those one thousand boys. And that includes Mr. Principal too and the other faculty members."   I rolled my eyes and exasperatedly crossed my arms on my chest. "Whatever."   "You know, first days aren't always that good." He consoled. "Sometimes it's bad. Really bad. And really really bad. And really really really really bad."   I chuckled as I rolled my eyes. "You said the word 'really' seven times."   "Oh, really?" He piped.   "That's the eighth," I joked. He chuckled and so did I. We became silent for a moment. I leaned my back on his car and closed my eyes as I cross my arms again on my chest.   I lured myself to the sound of the quite cold breeze, the swaying and moving of the trees and the birds chirping. It is so peaceful here. I sighed in relief as I opened my eyes.   "I'm quite surprised that you're kind to me." I said, breaking the silence, "Even though you're not a gentleman when we first met. What I'm trying to say is, you seem like the only normal guy around here."   He softly chuckled and shrugged saying, "It's the least I could do for the only girl in our school."   I flashed him a small smile.   "You must be scared," he added, narrowing his eyes to mine, "Being the only female in this place."   Looking away, I replied, "I am. I am a bit scared." I shrugged and looked back at him, "But it doesn't matter. My family needs me. It's the least I could do to help my family and myself."   He flashed me a cute smile and said, "If it helps, you're still standing on the American continent."   I smiled at him, and nodded. "It quite helped. Thanks."   He gave a nod and smiled back. He glanced at his wrist watch and looked up to me saying, "We need to go back inside. My first period starts in about ten minutes."   "Okay," I agreed and we walked back inside the school through the huge gate.   Ethan walked to his class and I was left alone walking in the hallway of lockers as I walk towards the faculty office.   "Ms. Greene," a faculty member named Mr. Bryne greeted me a nod as I entered the faculty office while he was about to go to his next class. I flashed him a smile in return before he went out the door.   I went directly to my office. Opening the door, I was surprised to see my cart inside the office. I clearly remember that Ethan and I left it in the classroom when we went out.   I walked towards the cart and saw a post-it note on the top of the boom box.   You left your cart.   My face cringed after reading the note. Who could this be? Ethan? Obviously not. He went out with me. Mr. McCoy? Mmm... I don't think so. He's always at his office.   I shook my head to clear the thoughts away. Whoever brought my cart back in my office, thank you. I don't think I need to know who it was. I'm tired and I wanna go back to my dorm.   It was already 1:03pm when I glanced at the clock hanging on the wall. My stomach was starting to grumble. I need food. I exited my office and strolled towards the other building as I pass through the hallways.   When I arrived at the dorm building, Richard was at his desk in the lobby.   "How was your first day, Sarah?" He beamed as he closed his book.   "Bad," I groaned as I walk towards him. "Those boys were so annoying, disgusting, rude and very disrespectful!"   He chuckled as he rose from his seat and patted my back. "That's alright, kid. There's always a tomorrow."   "Yeah," I snorted and rolled my eyes, "Another bad tomorrow."   "Aw, c'mon," he whined as he crossed his arms on his chest. "Be positive, Sarah. You can teach those kids how to learn some respect. I know you can. I see a strong, brave, independent, smart girl within you." He winked at me and flashed me a reassuring smile.   I softly chuckled. "I hope I can." I replied and shook my head. "It's gon' be tough but... I can do it right?"   "Of course!" He piped as he nodded. "You're Sarah Greene after all."   I grinned. "Thanks, Richard."   "No problem," he said as he smiled at me sweetly. "Always remember, just be you. Take off thatㅡ" he pointed at my face with a sour expression. "ㅡthat cakey makeup. You look bad."   "It's not cakey! I only put a light makeup on!" I exclaimed, defensively.   He shook his head. "You clearly don't know how to put makeup on your face, kid."   "And do you?" I glared at him and he chuckled.   "I don't," he replied. "But I know when a girl looks bad on makeup. You obviously don't put makeup on your face, huh?"   I sighed. "It's my first time. It makes my face feel a bit heavy, to be honest. No wonder some kid at class called me Fake Face."   He sniggered and I glared at him. "Wash it off, kid. And by the way, your lunch is already on your bed."   "Good. I am so hungry. Thanks, Richard." I chimed before I went towards the elevator.   The elevator made a ding sound, indicating that I just arrived on my destined floor. I looked up as the elevator door slowly opened for I was looking down the whole time. When the door was fully opened, I gasped in shock and quickly placed my hand on my chest.   "Oh my gosh! You scared the heck out of me!" I exclaimed in shock as I saw Mr. Evil Smirking Guy a.k.a Mr. Devil standing in front of me.   But what scared me were his eyes. They looked like they were sending daggers at me. His smug look was not present on his face neither was his signature evil smirk. He looked so composed yet dangerous. His hands were placed in the pocket of his jeans.   He looked like he was going to kill me.   Oh my gosh.   He grabbed my hand and pulled me out the elevator before it closed. I tried to shove his hand off but he held it tighter. The next thing I know, my back was already pressed against the wall.   His hands were already pressed on both of my arms and his eyes were as if on fire as he clenched his jaw.   "Mr. Walton!" It took everything in me to exclaim in fear. My heart was beating so fast. I tried getting off from his grip but he was too strong. The strength of his hands were too strong.   "Xavier." He hissed with clenched jaw.   "Mr. Walton, what are you doing?" I said as my lips quivered and my body started to tremble.   "It's Xavier." He sneered under his gritted teeth and tightened the grip of his huge hands on my tiny arms. I winced from the pain.   "You're hurting me!" I tried to exclaim but it turned out to be a yelp. He moved his face an inch closer this time and I jerked my face away as I closed my eyes.   "Who sent you?" He glowered as I felt his breath tingling on my skin.   "W-what a-are y-you ta-talking about?" I stuttered in fear as I looked at him with the corner of my eye.   "She sent you, didn't she?" He hissed and his grip tightened making me wince again.   "I-I d-don't know w-what you're t-talking about! P-please l-let go of me!" I cried as tears started to fill my eyes.   "Answer my damn question!" He hollered. His voice echoed throughout the VIP hallway. He punched his right hand on the wall an inch away from my face which made me flinch in great fear.   "Look at me." He commanded with a very cold yet angry tone in his voice. "I said, look at me!"   I slowly turned my head to look at him while my body was literally shaking. "Please..."   "Shut up!" He lowered. He sighed and calmly said, "Now, tell me. What does she want from me?"   "I don't know what you're talking about!" I replied hastily.   "Girls aren't allowed in this place and suddenly you came. If this is one of her devious plans to bring me down, tell her to f*ck off and get over it! If I go down, I'm bringing her with me. We'll burn together in hell! Now you go tell her that!" He suddenly let go of me and I sighed heavily in relief as I let myself slump to the floor.   "I don't know what you're talking about." I stated as I wiped my tears. "I honestly don't know who you're referring to."   He pinched the bridge of his nose and let out an exasperated sigh. "Just tell her to kill herself and die."   I shook my head and sobbed. "I don't know who you're talking about, I promise!"   "Don't you dare lie to me!" He shouted as he pointed at me and his voice echoed again throughout the hallway. He walked over towards me and leaned saying, "I will find out everything about you and that witch's plan and if I found out you're guilty, you're dead. Do you understand that?"   I whimpered and before I could respond to him, he threw a handkerchief to me and it landed on my leg.   "Use that. Your makeup is messed up." He added before he walked over to the elevator.   A lot more tears fell from my eyes as the elevator door closed. I clearly know that my mascara is all over my face now. I sighed heavily. I didn't bother to stand for a moment. I was too shocked and too scared. I was terrified. I don't understand what just happened.   I took the handkerchief from my leg and I saw his initials' X.W. at the lower side of the clothing. I sighed again.   I stared at his initials intently and before I realized it, I was already talking to the handkerchief.   "What is wrong with you? Why are you so mad? Why did you accuse me at something I don't know? You are so bad. You are so scary, Xavier Walton." I sighed and helped myself to get up.   Could this day get any better?   "So much for my first day." I scoffed to myself as I walked to my room still shivering in fear.
