Chapter 2: Beg not to leave

1250 Words
“Grrrr...” Leah let out a guttural grunt, not listening to her wolf. It is more than impossible that she's Amoux's mate. She's not a she-wolf. She turned to Amoux again and wanted to tell him not to come near her, but all he did was stare. Her whining and waning seemed like she was sorrowful and terrified. She knows he doesn't want to see her gray hair, which denotes that she's of low rank and unfit to engage with him, along with her blue eyes, which signify that no matter how clever she is, she will always be inferior to him. She lowered her body cautiously, wanting to communicate with him using her mind-link, but she was scared of him. She's afraid that Amoux' still hates her, like years ago. When she smelled something sweet, she knew there was something alive in her. She rose and moved her tail lights as she headed nearer to the source of the fragrance. She stopped in front of Amoux and nuzzled his body when she understood where it emanated from. However, Amoux put his hand on Leah's face to stop her from what she was doing. He wasn't angry because of what she did, but Leah was afraid he'd be mad at her again if she reverted to her normal form. Thinking about that, Leah let out a short grumble at the top of her lungs, but Amoux didn't do anything to her. Instead, he touched the gray tone of her fur, and it was as if all the anguish she had been feeling had first suddenly withered away. Why is he caressing her in this way? She is at her own house now, so she has no clue how he ended up there. It is already dark in the forest. 'Perhaps they are still looking for another pack and rogue?' 'Or maybe another werewolf he is with was gravely harmed again?' She was forced to convince herself. She doesn't want to make her hopes high. Leah decided to move away from him, while Amoux just stopped and looked at her. She hadn't seen him in years, so she couldn't express how happy she was to see him again. He never came back home to Nightwalker for a few years solely to denounce the rogue or the packs that intended to put their pack in jeopardy. The Shadow pack, Moon pack and Dark pack are the new packs that became their enemies—-based on what she heard. She whimpered again, this time conveyed it through mind-linking, “You should leave... You can't see me like this.” She has a lot to say to him about how she has steadily improved her skills at mending the pack's wounds in the years since he had returned to Nightwalker. They had several drugs that were perfected before Richelle died. Yet, how could she say that to him? They have never had any good conversations before... And yes, Richelle died just as she predicted, as she could hear her pulse dropping. After she passed away, she never used her special ability again. And the aggression of the other beta and alpha isn't all that awful anymore, but they still bully her a lot. Richelle is no longer here to defend her against them, so she sometimes simply lets them say anything they want, since she has become immune to it. But she's not going to let them hurt her again, because her health is the most important thing right now. Without her, Nightwalker wolves and lycans would die— she is their doctor now. As he drew his fangs and tilted his head, she backed away. And because she's not used to this form yet, she accidentally struck the different stuff in her house. She screamed to show him how terrified she was— to herself. When she looked up at the moon, she discovered that it was not spherical. She backed away even further when Amoux's neck cracked. She peered at the moon again because Amoux seemed to be shifting. The werewolves and lycans transform whenever the moon is full, and they forget who they are, so they hurt others. She was able to breathe because the moon was not full. However, it is also believed that when triggered or become hyper, they shape shift. Leah was about to hide under this intimidating man's eyes when a man called him. “Prince! The Lycan is calling you—” The man didn't finish his sentence and she didn't witness what happened next. However, she quickly realized that the man who should have summoned him was terrified by Amoux's rapid shift. He did it on purpose, and because he was over the age of 20 now, he had a lot of control over it. Leah wasn't deathly afraid when she saw his figure, although he was quadrupled and more her size. She is not afraid of his hazy red eyes, even though everyone thinks they're frightening when they shape shift. She was not intimidated by his fuzzy bulk. It was the first time she had seen him in this shape, and instead of being scared, she found herself sinking further into the depths of her affection for him. Amoux didn't look at the man, but instead, flashed his canines at Leah more, as if to imply she should be fearful of him. Leah wanted to return to her human form and touch his lethal claws, caress her with them, and tell him she wasn't scared of their sharpness, but she didn't do it. She was merely one of many who should have knelt before him. As she noticed Amoux was still sane and wouldn't be aggressive, she felt her body calm down and slowly return to normal and shrink. She had already closed her eyes, ready to fall on the floor, but before it happened, Amoux caught her body in less than a second and carried her back to bed. It didn't occur to her that he would take her up and carry her to bed. Her eyes started watering and she felt drawn towards slumber. She didn't even notice Amoux staring at her nude body. And when she finally noticed, her face was flushed with embarrassment, but she couldn't even move a finger to cover her face or body. Amoux' body was also back to normal, but she could still feel his rock chest. 'I had to give my body a practice run to perfect my wolf shift over the following three days. Help me, my wolf.' She tried to shove away her thoughts simply by thinking about this. And when she felt her soft bed, she yawned but did not stir. She was in pain, but kept her gaze fixed on his since she knew he was leaving. Afraid that it would be the last time they would meet again, she grabbed his hand. But she almost let him go and panicked to close her eyes because it seemed like ten wolves had attacked her body— she didn't know that puberty would be this painful. However, thinking that she should not be wasting time, she also let it go straight away. "Can you not leave...?" she asked gently. Amoux gulped many times, his scarlet eyes sparkled, and instead of responding, he elevated Leah's body, drew out his fangs, and got his face near to the back of her neck. Before everything turned to black, Leah heard a loud crisp chomp.
