At lunchtime, Cassian felt extremely uncomfortable. Barto had taken his place next to Maya and couldn't stop giving him murderous glares whenever she wasn't looking. He wondered when Barto had started hating him so much.
After finishing their meal, Barto said he was going back to the city of Farell. He couldn't be away from the guild for so long. Maya offered to accompany him to the door to say goodbye, but he refused, saying, "I would prefer Prince Cassian accompany me. I would like to speak with him for a moment before I leave."
"Alright," Cassian agreed.
Barto kissed his sister on the forehead and told her, "Think about what I told you and remember you can always count on me."
"I know," Maya replied.
