My alarm suddenly went off, jolting me awake. I was annoyed and so quick to stretch out my arm to turn it off. I think alarms are the most annoying thing in the morning. I couldn’t wake up just yet even though I had been the one to set the alarm for 5:30 am. I was starting to enjoy my sleep, I needed a few more minutes. ‘Only five minutes more.’ I told myself before drifting off to sleep again. Not even up to ten seconds later. I suddenly heard a loud banging noise next to my ears. I immediately jumped off my bed. I had been so startled I thought an earthquake was happening. For about five seconds I was disoriented and my brain tried to process what was going on.
