Chapter 2

Alpha Aedion POV

The argument which I had with my brother/best friend left me in a sour mood. I did not know why I even have to talk to him when it is basically his fault. He was the one to betray me and now he comes preaching to me about what is right and what is wrong.

Doesn’t he know, it was him because of whom I have turned this way?

He is the sole reason for every cruel thing I do. Whom else should I blame. I was happy but he had a problem with that as well. Now here we are no better than before.

Life has played such a cruel game with me. First losing my mom in an attack and then losing my mate. The only responsible person is my family. The brother who should have supported me and be helping me with my matters, he did something totally unexpected. It is not something to be forgotten easily. Only because he is blood related, is he surviving in this pack, otherwise he would have been hanged by now or locked up in our dungeon for disrespecting me and creating a rift between my mate.

I climb the stairs and get into my room. My room is master bedroom with an ensuite and my personal office attached to it. Whenever I don’t feel sleepy or have too much in my mind, I start working, not minding which hour of the day or night it is.

Taking a shower, I clean myself and wear my navy-blue color three-piece suit and a tie with black shoes, once I was ready, I wear my wrist watch and collect my wallet and keys. I had a meeting with important investors. Somehow, I knew that todays investors are very important and convincing is in the back of my hand.

I don’t need their money; it is them who wants profits from my very well-known hotels which is scattered around many hotels.

I meet everyone downstairs for the evening dinner, I have to go out. It is quite late.

“You are leaving now?” inquires my step mother Marlene with raised eyebrows.

“I have an important meeting. And I do need some privacy as I don’t want to sit idol and waste my time in chasing mates around here” my taunt is nevertheless directed at my mother. I smirk inwardly when his hand clenched tightly.

“you should give more time for yourself. You have a life other then being busy and earning for the livelihood. We are werewolves. Did you forget that by spending so much time among the humans?” she inquires with a low chuckle.

“If that was the case, then you would not have been living in this luxurious mansion. Whatever I do, is for my families sake. Stop being ungrateful about it” I state with a hard voice.

“I never meant that, Aedion. I was worried about your health. I am sorry if it offended you in anyway” she apologizes.

“I am not here for any family drama. Better know what to speak. Right now, I would like to leave. I seem to have lost my appetite” with that I get up and stalk out of there but not before calling out to Adolf and ben.

“Adolf and ben, both of you better meet me at the office in another twenty minutes” with that said I walk out of there and get into my car. My driver Seth, who is also a werewolf, was a guard from our pack. He is low key. I took him when he was starving along with his family. His mother had begged me to give him some work. That is why since past five years he is under my wing and works as my bodyguard. Not that I need one. I am one of the strongest and stealthiest Alpha of the packs around here.

“Good evening, Alpha” he greets me as soon as I enter.

I don’t reply and Seth starts the car. It is always the case, even though I hardly reply, that does not stop him from greeting me on every occasion, his loyalty is what made me keep him around for a long time.

All most all of the people stayed clear of my way, in order to not anger me or be in my bad books. They make sure not create any kind of chaos in the pack. I have instilled a fear so vile in them that they will think twice before cheating on their immediate mate. In my pack, the mates are separated by mutual decision or if they are not happy. I made sure everyone knows what the consequences will be if they hurt each other for I cannot bear anyone hurt due to the betrayal that causes it. It hurts. And the pain is immeasurable.

Been gone through the same thing, I don’t want anyone to suffer because of an innocent looking girl who later turns out to be wild creature and mercenary.

Like this there is harmony and peace among the pack members. After around fifteen minutes or so, I reach my office. The Alpha Russell groups.

The Alpha means, the dominant person who leads both the social and professional life with his cold and calculating rules. Everyone is submissive to his demands. And that is why I have chosen this name. It suits my personality and also makes the message clear to the ones who don’t know anything about me. They will know it the moment they read the name with whom they are going to work or invest.

I climb the stairs and reach the lobby. The front desk staff, Miss Eliana greets me with a seductive look. Ignoring her look, I walk past her with a nod. I am known to leave disappointments to the females working in my office. They should know better than to flirt with their boss. I hate such kind of females who try to seduce someone who is not interested. I don’t give a s**t about what they do after the office hours, but here I expect strict professionalism.

As I was walking near the elevator, I find a group of interns hanging around and gossiping.

“I don’t pay you guys to come and gossip. You come here to learn through your internship about how the business works here around. Is this the kind potentiality you want to give being an employee where you will be working?” I ask with hard glare towards them.

They cower away in fear.

“We are sorry Boss” they murmur quietly.

“next time you won’t get a chance to explain if I come to this kind of unprofessional behavior from you people. Remember this is not your university but the company where you are interning” I state staring at them with a stoic face.

“We will keep that in mind sir” replies one of the employees.

I don’t nod at them and wait for them to get on with their work.

“Back to work now” I shout when no one moves from their place. Immediately everyone scrambled and got back to their cubicles and started with work. With a nod of satisfaction, I enter the elevator and reach the twentieth floor.

After reaching there, my secretary Bianca was already waiting.

“Good evening sir, the investors are already waiting for you in the cabin” she informs me while biting her lips. I don’t have any time for her now. It will have to wait.

“Very well, we shall start the meeting as well” I let her know. After that I walk towards the cabin where the investors were seated. Ben and Adolf were already present. I was not surprised. My office location is situated in such a place where one side there are plenty of other buildings with their business. Behind the office, are the vast forest. It was chosen because of me being a werewolf, it will sometimes help us to come undetected. The office had glasses where only from outside could be seen. The people from inside cannot look in the vast forest and have suspicion about werewolves running. It was also to not alert the humans.

“Good morning gentlemen” I greet them with a shake of my hand and take the seat.

“Mr. Ricardo, it is a pleasant surprise. We meet again” my face is devoid of any emotions.

“Yes Mr. Russell. I seem to have changed my mind” was his reply. He was smiling. Me being the person, I wiped it off his face.

“Was the change of mind due to the recent financial crisis you are faces?”

“whatever money is left; you want to invest in my company to gain profits easily and recover everything?” I state.

“I see that you have got the information right, Mr. Russell” he replies with a cold look.

“I have a preposition for you guys” I state and get straight to the point.

“Instead of investing, I want you to keep the money. Rather, I would give you some initial amount to get back your hotels and once make them profitable” I inform him.

 I wait for the information to sink in his mind.

“I believe you have a motive behind giving the amount, without wasting anytime, I would like to know the reason” he states staring me straight in the eyes.

“smart man. That is the reason why I like working with you. We have known each other in the business world from past four years. I believe in your potential.” I appraise him.

“the motive is, if your company clears all the debts and is back in line with profits, I will be the owner of twenty five percent shares in the company with my say at important matters”

“that is the huge percent you expecting there Mr. Russell” he states with his hands folded and placed on the table.

“That is my offer. Either take it or leave it”

He seems to take his time answering. I know he does not have any chance. He has to accept it. The way his business hotels are sinking, no one is ready to invest or lend a hand to him. And of course, I am ready to help as long as I have those twenty five percent shares. There is no loss if he agrees.

He does not reply for another five minutes and my patience was running thin.

“I don’t have all the time for you to make a decision Mr. Ricardo” I tap my watch in the way of emphasizing my meaning.

“I will take it” he states with a deep breath.

“a smart choice to accept it, Mr. Riccardo” I nod in approval.

“Adolf, my man, will help you with the money and details. The contract will be signed in two day with the added shares” I inform them.

“thank you for the help Mr. Russell” he stands up and shakes my hand. After that he and his assistant take their leave.

“Congratulations Boss” says ben with a smile. I nod at him. Adolf has already gone with Mr. Riccardo to final the details. Now I am left alone with my assistant/ mistress.

Once the door is closed, I roughly pull my mistress Bianca in my arms and kiss her hard and rough. She knows how dominant I am and takes it. What I like about her is she never complaints about anything. Soon the only things that could be heard in the office were the grunts and moans.

The room was sound proof so no one knows what is going on inside.

“That was mind blowing darling” she whispers seductively in my ear as she bites it.

“I know” I reply and immediately I pull at her hair and glare at her

“next time, make sure not to tempt when I have a meeting. I don’t want sit there uncomfortable throughout the meeting” I state.

“At least it was worth it. The manliness is what makes it all the more enticing” she smirks.

“still keep it in your mind” with that I give her a bruising kiss and walk out of the room after making my appearance proper.

“Ask some one to clean the room” with that instructions, I walk to my office.
