  AVERY   Twenty minutes into the movie, the guy I was sitting beside turned and said, “Are you enjoying the movie?”   At first I wasn’t sure he was speaking to me, but there was no one else there and there wasn’t a phone pressed to his ear.   “I guess.” I said, and turned back to face the movie.   “Those your friends?” He tilted his chin at Jemima and Mariah sitting beside me and I nodded because I didn’t want to speak.
