A tremendous creaking sound filled the night, then a snap and a crack, and the front door collapsed under the pressure of the pressing bodies. “Top of the stairs!” They met Gertrude there, right outside the bathroom. “What now?” Topher pointed at his gun. “Use that.” He pointed at the zombies. “To kill them. Pyramid position!” Gertrude kneeled before the other two, who backed up to the window, and all three started to fire. The zombies surged and fell, surged and fell anew.
