(LARRY’S POV)
Throughout the engagement party, I kept a close watch on Pete and making sure that I looked out for Chloe’s return to the party. When she finally made her way past the door, I hurried to see her. She was laughing and talking to someone and I was relieved to see that she did not come with Solana.
I prepared a drink for her from the bar and hurried over to her, tapping her shoulder gently. She turned around to look at me and then she offered me a smile.
“Larry, you startled me.” She said to me
I offered her a drink and she took it and told me thank you. I led her to a corner that was not as busy with people.
“I’m sorry I startled you, I just had to come and talk to you.” I said. She looked at me as if to say that I could go ahead with what I had to say.
