“I’d like that very much.” It was crazy, agreeing to be Jarrod’s… whatever people called it these days. Girlfriend? Main squeeze? Friend with benefits? Lover? That just sounded weird, but in essence that’s what they’d agreed to. But everything inside her sang yes. They were both in a very different place than at Carolina’s wedding. And D.C. seemed like another planet entirely. Here at home, she was just Lexi. Animal lover, activist, rancher. She bent her head, mouth turning up as she kissed him with a giddy laugh. “I hope you brought condoms,” she muttered after they’d lain on the blanket making out like teenagers in the dappled shade.
