RUBY JUNE. “Seize her.” My heart stopped for a moment. Time seemed to slow as two towering guards appeared from the shadows, each one holding heavy, rusted chains. Their faces were cold, their eyes emotionless, as though they’d done this a thousand times before. “No—wait!” I cried, panic gripping every part of me. “This is a setup! I didn’t do anything!
