For a moment, Nathaniel felt like time had slowed down as he watched the bullet fired at the child. Nathaniel knew that there was no way he could save the child but still his feet moved. And just before the bullet would hit the child he saw a light passing through him and the next thing he saw was the child gone.
“What?” Nathaniel quickly looked around and saw the child on the other side of the street a few meters away.
‘No way. It was only a brief moment but I’m sure that I saw something pass through me. Was it the monster?’ Nathaniel thought and he was right because the spot where the child was earlier stood the monster hiding behind a human skin.
