Chapter 14 - Surprises

Skye Over the next couple of days, the king came to my room in the early morning and would take me on “walks” throughout the kingdom before bringing me back for lunch as if nothing was wrong. The atmosphere in the “castle” part of the caves was so thick you could cut it with a blade, and I couldn’t understand that he could be so stupid as to not see it, but he didn’t leave me alone for a second, which told me that he did suspect my life was in danger. He explained that his hope was that if I saw his kingdom and his subjects got to know me, things would work out. I caught myself wondering how the hell he became the king! From what I could see in our walks, the castle part of the caves was deeper into the mountain, and getting out was going to be more difficult than I originally thought it
