Paul left the main portion of Ely and drove back toward the lodge. He was anxious to meet the contact arranged by Vic Nettleson, but neither the contact nor Nettleson would be available until after six o’clock.
Then there was the contact being arranged by John Boulder. Paul had called Boulder’s office before leaving town, but Boulder was out and there was no message for him. Paul would have to try again later and hope something could be arranged. Until then, there was nothing he could do but head back to the cabin and have lunch.
He wondered what he would do if Shannon was there. He would have to face her sometime, there was no getting around it. He hoped his expression wouldn’t give him away. He wanted her to think he believed in her high school teacher identity for as long as possible.
