By the time they returned to the lodge, Paul wanted nothing more than to crash onto the miserably lumpy mattress and sleep through to the following day. Because of his late-night shift on the wolf tracking expedition, he had not gotten sufficient sleep since his arrival. Fortunately, there would be no more tracking until the following afternoon.
