I should have known that the first one to realize what was going on would be Aspen, hell it didn’t even register with me at first, only natural instinct took over every movement I took. When my mind finally caught up with my body, I was ashamed that I would turn on my own pack so quickly. But in my defence, I gave an order and it was not followed. There will be repercussions for that, I assure you! But now, this man, my mate, is fully conscious still laying on the ground, bound by tree roots or branches looking at me as though I was the absolute worst thing that he could come across. The absolute horror on his face when I referred to him as mine was more than I could bear to see.
