My first mistake is that I rush into my house without giving a thought to who might be sneaking around. I’m close to my room when my father’s imposing shadow stops in front of me. His features are set in a scowl, and his hands are balled into fists. “I heard they weren’t able to run the sleep test on you.”
I swallow hard. “Yeah, Dr. Caldwell said that there was some kind of emergency, and they couldn’t do it.”
