“I was looking for something I knew was not there. At the beginning, I thought about it long and hard the whole day. I just had to find it. Then I thought it was improbable, but still possible. For a long while I was disappointed, but not discouraged. I kept going. I thought somehow if I just focused on looking for it I would find it. God surely would reward me for my efforts. I’m a good person. The harder I looked the further away it got. In my dreams I would get close. There a lot of the time I would be in the water swimming out from the beach looking for it. I could hear the clanking bell of a distant buoy I saw to my left. I knew I was in deep water, and I just knew I was close! But that was only my alarm clock at 6:00 AM telling me
