I looked up from the paper that I was reading to find Aurora asleep.
Her chest rose and fell, and I took a deep breath before getting up to cover her with the blanket.
I ran my finger over her cheekbone gently, smiling when her body forced her to lean into my touch, the mating bond showing its effect on her.
I took a step back and walked out of the room, raising an eyebrow when I found Marcel by the staircase, clearly waiting for me. He has been there for a while, but I didn’t expect him to be waiting.
“You’ve been here a while.” I said, and he nodded. The bedroom doors were soundproof, and I knew that no one could hear us inside, but I knew that if he was waiting, something was wrong.
“She is your mate.” He teased, and I smirked. “Why didn’t you tell me?”
“She was rejected.”
