I awaited the first question from the council elders to determine my fate, the council members whispered amongst themselves silently. I had no interest in knowing what they were talking about, so I averted my concentration elsewhere, scanning the room for Brandon and Jared. Brandon would definitely be somewhere here, but Jared, I am not sure if they allowed omegas in.
I caught sight of Brandon sitting between his parents and Bethany, two seats away from her mom, and Jared leaning against the pillar at the far end of the hall. He smiled at me and I returned his smile, and part of me was glad that they were here. Seeing them gave me some sense of relief.
