Anastasia's POV
After all that drama, we all take a minute to compose ourselves before going out into the ballroom again. Damien asks me if I want to go home, but no! I can't! This is my first event as the hostess, and I am seeing it through. He understands, and stays by my side.
As we emerge from the side room, everyone surrounds us, greeting and smiling. Some are more authentic than others. And we smile and greet them back. We make smalltalk, walking around to everyone. The waiters are serving small snacks and champagne to the guests, and I get a special glass of my own with sprite instead of alcohol. I'm pregnant, so that's a no go!
