The Purposely Accident

Cat's POV:
“The party has already started, what were you doing all evening?” Sammy asks as I put on my dress.
“Um.. Watching movies?” I think.
“Never mind, sit let me fix your hair”, she orders as I sit on my bed.
“You have much lovely golden brown hair, I’m so jealous”, Sammy sighs as she takes the curlers out of my hair.
“I get that a lot, nice dress by the way”, I compliment. It’s a midnight blue, floor length dress with a silver band around the waist.
“Thanks, it took me ages to find it I went back to get it after we returned earlier”, she explains.
“Guess it was worth it after all”, I shrug.
“Yes it was, now time for make up to leave Derrick’s mouth hanging”, she winks.
I laugh, “that ship isn’t going to sail Sam, just drop it.”
“Never”, she declares.
Derrick knocks on the door and opens it, “ready?” He peaks in.
“Give us five minutes Romeo”, Sammy replies.
“Don’t bother with her, you can come in”, I say.
“The party started, I already make my entrance and didn’t see you so, I decided to run away to come see what you’re doing”, he explains.
“That’s so sweet of you, ditching your duties to come see Catalina”, Sam coos.
I roll my eyes.
“Yes, but I can’t stay long though my father just mind link me to ask where I am”, he says.
“Well I’m almost finish here anyway, two minutes”, Sam adds.
“Good, I can wait outside.”

Derrick and I enter the dining room where everyone is already seated to be serve dinner, I see the red hair girl watching Derrick and I.
“Kat, you’ll be sitting next to Whitney since that’s the only available spot remain and Derrick will be with his parents”, Luna Calissa says.
I nod and sit down between Whitney and her other friend who’s been watching me with a stink eye the whole time.
“Listen here you little miss perfect, stay away from Lucas and Derrick”, Whitney whispers.
“That’ll be impossible, Winnie we live in the same house”, I reply.
“What did you just call me?” She demands glaring at me.
“Sorry, I don’t repeat myself”, I take a sip of the wine.
She scoffs, “whatever, it’s not like you’re that pretty.”
“But I am pretty enough to have a guy like Derrick as my close friend though”, I smirk.
“Don’t say I didn’t warn you”, she says and purposely spill her wine on my dress.
I got up quickly, “how dare you?” I demand and everyone watches me including Lucas who just enters with his siblings.
“It was an accident”, Whitney says.
I glare at her, my wolf, Daisy wanting to emerge.
“Catalina, stay calm and breathe”, I hear my mother says calmly.
Whitney smirks as everyone watches me carefully.
I excuse myself and leave the room; I know Derrick will come after me as usual.
“Kat, wait up”, he follows me as I go outside in the back.
“Are you okay?” He asks as I sit down on the stairs.
“Yeah, just that I like this dress”, I sigh.
“The weather is nice tonight, want to go for a run or swim?”
“A run sounds nice, Daisy needs the fresh air”, I smile, “but aren’t you needed inside?”
“Screw that, you need me more”, he hugs me.
“Thanks, but better get back in there before your mother comes”, I say, “I’ll be fine and wouldn’t go too far.”
“I know you wouldn’t, plus there are warriors on patrol right now”, he adds and gets up, “I’ll save you some dessert.”
“Thanks.”
I went behind a tree and shift into my light brown wolf, Daisy yelps in my head since she’s in control.
I run into the forest, a few nights away then the moon will be full. I run until I get to the lake and drink some water before going near the boarders where a few warriors knew I was coming.
‘Want to learn to fight the proper way?’
One of the warriors asks.
‘Sure, but not now.’
‘Aw, why not?’
‘Not feeling to.’
‘Fine, tomorrow then.’
I nod and hang around them for the next hour before heading back to the house. I shift into human form and put on my clothes before going inside through the back door.
“Catalina, you’re okay”, Sam rushes to me from the down the hall.
“Aren’t you supposed to be enjoying the party?” I frown.
“It’s boring, plus Lucas left right after dessert with his father”, she explains.
“What’s the purpose of the party if they weren’t planning to stay?” I ask.
“They would be back, that’s what Luna Calissa told us”, she replies.
“Well I’m going to my room”, I go towards the stairs.
“Can I come? Please, it’s boring there”, Sam pleads.
“Fine, go change and come in my room in thirty minutes”, I sigh.
“Yes, a sleepover”, she grins and rushes up the stairs.
I shake my head and walk up the stairs, but someone grabs my wrist from behind stopping me.
I turn around, “yes Derrick”, I roll my eyes.
“How was your run?”
“Good actually, do you want something?”
“Yes, your dessert is in the kitchen so come with me for it”, he states pulling me down the stairs.
“I can eat it tomorrow”, I whine.
“No, it wouldn’t last the night”, he states and I sigh.
“Can I at least change?”
“You’re perfect just the way you are Kat”, he admits and blushes.
I blush too, “thanks.”
We enter the kitchen which is busy with waiters and waitresses moving around with champagne bottles and glasses.
“I’ll get the plate from the refrigerator”, Derrick says and I stand at the entrance to the side, so I wouldn’t block anyone.
Derrick to the plate and hand it to me, “ice cream!” I grin.
“Your favorite, cookies and cream”, he smiles.
“Thanks”, I hug him and begin to eat it heading back to the stairs, Derrick follows.
“Don’t you have a party to attend?” I turn around.
“It’s boring anyway, nothing much to do plus you’re not there to entertain me”, he shrugs.
“So what you’re going to do then? I already have plans with Sam.”
“Can I join?”
“No, it’s a girls’ night; you can go for a run or something.”
“I’ll just go to bed, have to get up early in the morning anyway to show Lucas around town.”
“Fun”, I sat sarcastically and he glares at me.
“Maybe you should come as well.”
“Nope, that’s future alpha and beta having some time alone to get to know each other”, I shake my head.
“I don’t want to go alone”, he pouts.
“Next time”, I go to my room.

“So saw any cute guys recently on your time away?” I ask Sam as I sit on my bed and she’s on the sofa flipping through a magazine.
“Yeah, I saw a few”, she nods.
She went to spend some time at her grandparent’s for an entire month while her friends had to do business there for the alpha.
“Date any?”
“Yeah, this one guy carried me on a few dates and kissed me one week before I left to come home”, she answers.
“Nothing else happened?”
“It wouldn’t have worked out anyway, we’re miles apart and he’s human”, she shrugs.
“You’re right, got to look out for your mate, don’t know when he’ll just appear.”
“Exactly, my mother told me that she met dad when she was in a serious relationship with this other guy who’s human for three years, she was in college at that time”, Sam explains.
“Wow, how did the guy handle it?”
“Not so well, after a few weeks of dad and mom ignoring each other since they know they’re mates, mom broke things off with her boyfriend who was about to ask her to marry him to be with my dad. He attacked dad, but obviously dad won since he was stronger and being a werewolf and whatnot; the guy was in hospital for an entire month.”
“Poor guy.”
“He turned out alright mom told me, two years later she saw him and he was with another woman who was pregnant and had a ring on her finger”, she shrugs.
“Dang he moved on fast.”
“Well can’t blame him, mom moved on quickly like the next week after the break up.”
“I can’t wait to get my mate”, I fall back on my bed.
“I think you already did.”
“Derrick isn’t my mate, Sam”, I roll my eyes.
“I see the way he looks at you Catalina, like the only girl in the room literally.”
“It’s just weird, dating your best friend you knew since you were an infant”, I chuckle.
“It’s a little cliché, but what’s wrong with that?” She shrugs.
“Um... Everything.”
“Whatever, let’s talk about something else.”
