"Are you on your way home, sweetheart?" At the other end of the line, I enthusiastically inquired.
"Not yet, sweetheart, I'm in the middle of our mission, but as soon as this mission is completed, I'll go home immediately," she replied in the second line, which made my heart race. I have a feeling that something bad will happen.
In my rage, I slammed my fist on the table.
"Damn! You're in the middle of your mission and have the audacity to call? Mirana, I can't stand it any longer that every time you're on your mission, I can't help but worry. I believe it is better for us and for you if you leave your agency. I'm worried about you, especially now that you're in the middle of your mission," I exclaimed, and she appeared taken aback by the other line.
"Relax, sweetheart. I missed you, which is why I called, but why do you want me to quit this job when you're not even quitting yours?"
"Mirana, I'd like us to live a normal life. After we get married, we'll just start our own business "I stated calmly.
"Oh, that's wonderful, sweetheart, we'll have our w-wait, did I hear correctly? What happens after we get married? "She enquired fervently.
"Is it, indeed, too early? Do you not want to marry me?" I inquired, a little nervously.
She didn't respond.
"Are you still there, Mirana?"
"Y-yes, sweetheart, I'm here to—of course, I want to marry you," she said nervously. What gives me the impression that something bad is about to happen?
I simply sighed in relief.
"Mirana, I absolutely love you. I sincerely love you," I said wholeheartedly.
"Ada-"
A loud bang cut her off, followed by several gunshots.
Hearing those on the second line made me anxious. My world has abruptly come to a halt, and I am unable to form a single word.
"Mirana! Mirana! What exactly is going on there? Is everything all right out there? Mirana, please respond!"
The line was then disrupted.
"Mirana! Mirana! Mirana!"
