Welcome to Pristine Academy

"This… Is your home?” Patricia looks at the majesty of the manor that her grandmother has. “You didn’t tell me you have a mansion in another world!” Klizzette chuckles, “Such information will not be essential, especially I didn’t think that you would come here.” Patricia looks at her, “You’re really not going to say to me everything if… that… didn’t happen…” Klizzette puts her hand on her back, “My dear, your father is… quite a special one. I have an ounce of hope that you will have the chance to at least visit my house. Besides, it’s in the past now, you are here, standing in front of its glory!” “It’s so big… But why did you prefer to visit us a lot and stay in our house for months that you all have the grandeur here?” Klizzette goes inside with her, “Since your mother died, it’s been lonely even with the people accompanying me here. When I’m with you, I feel an ounce of her presence here.” “You miss her.” Her grandmother looks at her, “Of course, she’s my only child. My only blessing from the earth.” She sighs, “I would have wanted her to build her family here, but I respect her decision to stay with your father on Earth. With my wealth, I took the chance to have some people accompany me in return for me supporting them. Nickolo and Chiro are one of those children I have supported through the years.” She sighs once more, “But alas it’s not the solution that I need.” Patricia looks around and saw a few people walking around, doing chores and such. They aren’t wearing any uniform that signifies them as maids, they just wear the native clothes of the place. It was the same as what she wears but accompanied by some fabric hanging on their shoulders and arms. As they took notice of the two, they immediately set aside their work and approached them. “Madam Klizzette! We’re glad your back.” Their eyes peered to Patricia which they were shocked and seemingly excited to see. “Is this your granddaughter, Madam Klizzette?” The lady smiles, “Everyone, meet Patricia, my granddaughter.” Everyone was happy to meet her as if they were waiting for her for so long. “You’re so beautiful!” “Madam Klizzette was right, you’re a gorgeous-looking lady!” “What does the Earth look like?” “Calm yourselves down, we don’t want her to get pressured now.” Patricia looks at her grandmother, “Don’t worry, sihsih. I am happy that I won’t get alienated here. Everyone seems happy about my arrival.” “Of course,” Klizzette chuckles, “They have been a witness of your life through my mouth. I may have talked about you too much that they might know everything about you.” Patricia flushes in embarrassment, “Everything, sihsih?” Klizzette laughs, “Not everything, just anything I remembered when I came home from yours.” They have arrived at the main room of the manor, which is larger than their house. It looks like a ballroom in its size. It leads to four hallways and two stairs going upstairs. “If you may excuse us, I still need to show my granddaughter her room to stay in for a while.” The people left them be as the two went upstairs with more hallways to pass on through. After minutes of meandering, they have reached a room where there’s already a door where her name was engraved. Patricia looks at her grandmother, “My name is already… in here.” Klizzette smiles, “Oh, how many years I have been preparing this room. Finally, it will be used by you.” The old lady smiles and opens the door for her. It opens into a room that’s completely furnished with her favorite colors. There are a few strange details that Patricia my not have been wanted in her room, but the room being in this state before she arrives is shocking for her. Patricia immediately lays on the bed that was in the room and happily feels its softness and bounciness. It was everything she dreamed of. Klizzette was happy watching her granddaughter take in the room she prepared for her. After a while, she needed to make her stop squealing and getting excited over the room. “Calm down now,” she sighs, “You will only rest in this room for just one day. We’re going to the academy, and you will stay there for the time being. It’ll be a waste if we are late at the admission date.” “Right…” Patricia flicks her tongue, “Why won’t you just teach me? Besides, I am sure that our abilities couldn’t be far-fetched, right?” Klizzette shakes her head, “I am old now, my darling. As they say, energy’s peak is as its childhood, magic in its middle age, and wisdom in the old years. My ability is wavering now, my child. As much as I want to just teach you myself, I think it will be better for experts to handle someone like you.” “Why? Am I unruly, sihsih?” Klizzette chuckles, “No, you’re not, my child. There’s something more than the fact you are possessing an elemental magic.” “What is it?” Her grandmother smiles, “You will be knowing tomorrow. Our trip shall explain it you all at once.” In both excitement and curiosity, Patricia went to bed early that night. It’s strange for her to do, but she became much more different than what she was before the incident and everything. But it was a beautiful new beginning for her. Patricia woke up early in the morning and was welcomed by a banquet-looking breakfast. “Is there some sort of festival, sihsih? There’s too much food in the table!” Klizzette chuckles, “There’s no such thing as too much for food, my darling. Besides, we’re not the only ones who will be eating in this table.” She said as the table fills in with some of the people she met yesterday. Her grandmother did indeed have supported a lot of people with the amount of chairs the dinner table has and it’s full. After the breakfast, they started packing again for another trip. They went to an airport of sorts, but with much more primitive airplanes than the ones Patricia was used of. “Are you sure this is safe? This seems made of wood and fabric by the looks of it.” Klizzette laughs, “It’s not wood nor fabric. They are far than that. With your naiveness in this world, I have another reason for you to go a school.” After the aircraft fills in, it took off without the usual noises it does. Instead, it was suddenly lifted in the sky and gliding towards the wind. With Patricia confused what makes this work, she decided to take a nap for the whole ride until the have arrived in the Enikos that her grandmother is talking about. She was welcomed with yet another culture apart from the one she came. The buildings seem to have some connection with the other land she was on just yesterday but painted with other cultures she was not familiar with. Klizzette walks up behind her, “This is Enikos, specifically we are in Lutcolles. Our destination is still far from here. Let’s go?” Patricia nods, “Yeah, let’s get this over with. It’s pretty boring along the flight.” They had another trip on a rented vehicle. Patricia was looking around, confused and mesmerize with how diverse the culture is around the area. There were circular houses, they were pointed ones, they were even just boxes of concrete. There are several people which she watches use their magic to do their daily chores. It must be the everyday life of a mentiel. They stopped on an inn where they unloaded her bags, but Klizzette and Patricia stopped on a walled city away from the town they passed by. It was among the trees that surrounds the place. “Where are we?” Patricia looks at Klizzette, “We are at Pristine Academy, school for Pristines, just like you, my darling.” The young lady raises her eyebrow, “Pristine?” Her grandmother nods, “Yes, Pristines. Mentiels that have much more than being a mentiel. I think the headmaster could tell you more.” They entered the campus that were crowded with buildings and merchants on the gate. “Is this the school? It seems we are in another city.” She could see a towering building in the center among the bustling streets. There was a lively commerce around the area. It took them minutes to approach the very gate of the school. They slowly approached the tower with a dome-shaped roof. As they arrived, they were welcomed by a bunch of faculties and other staffs wandering around the halls. “Good morning! Looking for the admission office.” Klizzette shakes her head, “I am actually looking first for the headmaster’s office.” The receptionist looks at her, “Do you have an appointment scheduled?” Klizzette nods, “Yes, of course.” She handed a slip that seems changed the lady’s mind. “Ah, he’s in his office. Follow me, please.” The receptionist lead them to the headmaster’ office where a headmaster was not present, but rather a headmistress? “My apologies for the absence of the Chancellor Hickmott.” A lady sitting on a chair with a ginger hair tied in a bun spoke, adjusting her glasses. “My name is Vice Chancellor Sophronia Bethel-Craith, and I will be replacing in his duties as his presence is not here with us. You could call me Mrs. Bethel-Craith, with the Bethel, please.” Klizzette was surprised by the presence of the lady, “Sophronia? Is that really you?” The lady looks at her, squinting her eyes. Her eyes seems to widen a bit, but she reverted back to her stern look like a professional. “Are you Mrs. Johnstone, if I’m correct?” Klizzette cheerfully nods, “Yes, the very mother of your best friend! Oh, it’s so surprising and delightful to see that you are the very vice chancellor of the school both of you studied on. Oh, how far have you come.” The lady ignored her comments and shifted her gaze to Patricia, “And, who’s this young lady by your side?” She looks at her from head to toe, examining everything about her. “Based on her appearance, she looks a lot like Cexillia. Her daughter, perhaps?” Klizzette nods, “Yes, she’s just from the Earth, unaware of this world. I was going to ask the headmaster to take very good care of this little girl. I really can’t guide her through her studies nor stand guard if something happens to her. Unfortunately, I am needed back in my home.” Sophronia looks sternly at her, she was a lot more serious than what she seems so. “Isn’t it a bit biased if the higher-ups need to take care of your granddaughter? There are a lot of Pristines here that came from the arthiel world. What’s the difference them and her? Does she have any mental disorders that we need to be aware of? Does she have a special case?” “No, no. That’s not the case.” Klizzette shakes her head, “She came from a very distressing situation. I can’t be here if something happens to her. You know what’s been happening between Thereal and Earth nowadays. That’s the root of her arrival here. Come on, Sophronia, do your bestfriend’s daughter a favor.” Sophronia sighs, “I know what’s been happening between the two worlds, no need to remind me of that… problem.” She fixes her clothes. “It is my duty to keep the students safe, anyway. I think there was no need for that. Don’t worry, Mrs. Johnstone, your daughter will be safe in here. No matter the cost. It will be stupid for the school administration to not aim for the well-being of their own students.” She looks at Patricia, “As for you, Miss?” “Prudent. Patri—“ Before she could tell more, she was cut off. “Very well. Miss Prudent, since Mrs. Johnstone wouldn’t be taking you here if she didn’t saw you fit, you are now admitted in the school. Welcome to Pristine Academy.”
