Chapter One: Beauty and the Nerd.

Kenzo's eyes scanned the University's Cafeteria. The place is jam-packed with students. He's already starving, and his arms' starting to numb because he's been holding a tray of food for the passed few minutes. He breathed a sigh of relief when he noticed an empty table and chair at the corner, but there's one big problem. Max and his crew are all sitting just beside the empty table and chair. Max is hanging out with his girlfriend, Victoria, who's the most popular girl in the campus.

She has the face and the figure that many girls envies, and she has the body to die for. But there's only one catch--- she doesn’t have any brains at all. In conclusion, Max and Victoria are perfect for each other.

Kenzo felt his stomach growl again. He has to eat or else he'll be suffering from an ulcer. And he still needs to attend his next class, and it will start in 30 minutes.

"It's now or never." Kenzo whispered. He needs to do something or else, he will die from starvation...

He walked towards Max and Victoria's table.

He winced as he heard the jocks and the bullies laughing out loud as if there's no tomorrow. the loud laughter of Max's whole group. Victoria's jeering laugh is like a tire screeching right into his ears.

They suddenly stopped laughing when they saw him.

"What the hell are you doing here, dude?Are you lost?" Max sarcastically asked, while grinning from ear to ear.

"Yeah, what are you doing here, loser?" Victoria asked him as well.

“I saw an empty seat near your table. I was thinking that maybe I can sit there and have a peaceful lunch since I have a class to catch in less than 30 minutes..." Kenzo said it all in one breath. Good thing he didn't stammer infront of them...

Max smiled again.

"Of course, man! You can sit wherever you want. I have to ask for your help, though..."

Kenzo swallowed an imaginary lump on her throat. He knew rightaway that Max is going to ask him a favor, and it has something to do with one of their school homeworks...

"Are you done with your homework in Humanities?" Max suddenly asked.

"Yes, I'm done with it." Kenzo answered.

“Look, I’ve been very busy preparing for the basketball Championship game. My girlfriend is also busy with her cheerdance practice and that's why we no longer have time to do other school stuff. And I know you'll help us since you're our friend, right?” Max said, in a condescending tone.

Kenzo wanted to say no, but he needs to agree with Max because he doesn't want to walk around the campus with a bruised face.

"Alright, I'll do it." Kenzo helplessy replied.

Max lets out a big smile while tapping Kenzo's shoulder.

“You’re the best, dude! Don’t worry, once we win in the final game, we’ll invite you to our Victory Party and introduce you to other girls. "I don't need girls, but thank you very much."

Kenzo lets out a fake smile.

"Just be patient, Kenzo. You'll be graduating in a few months, and you'll be free from this hellish University life." he reassures himself...

"What's this meeting all about, Jessica?" Kara interrogated her Manager, while looking irritated.

She's been dead tired because she's been into numerous shooting since yesterday. She started working at 7 in the morning yesterday, and after her shooting engagements, she also had a guesting for a television talkshow. Afterwards, she had three magazine interviews. She thought she could go straight home and take a long and good rest but she's sadly mistaken.

For some unknown reason, the President of her Talent Agency suddenly called them and asked for a meeting.

"I don't have any idea why the President called us, Kara." said Jessica, who is Kara's Manager.

And she looks obviously worried.

"Don't be too paranoid, Jessie. I haven't been involved in any scandal. And besides, I'm the one raking money here at the talent agency." Kara reassures her Manager-s***h-friend.

Before Jessica could answer, Miss Audrey, the CEO's secretary, suddenly called them.

"It's so nice to see you again, girls. How are you?" the woman happily greeted them.

"So far so good, Miss Audrey. Do you have any idea why the CEO called us today?" Kara curiously asked her.

"Sorry, I don't have an idea. Maybe it's just a usual meeting?" Audrey guessed.

"Well, I guess we have to see it for ourselves, Kara." Jessica stated, while looking nervous.

"You can now go inside the CEO's office. Goodluck, girls!" Miss Audrey wished them goodluck.

Kara and Jessica walked towards the CEO's office. Jessica knocked on the door twice and after that, they instantly heard their Boss.

"Please come in."

Kara and Jessica took a deep, calming breath before entering the office. They saw Ariel, their Boss, who is staring at them, with a serious look on his face.

"G-Good morning, Big Boss." Jessica greeted the old man.

"Good morning. Please take a seat." the Boss said.

Kara and Jessica quietly took their seats.

"We're all busy people so I'd go straight to the point, Kara... I'm sure you're already aware of the negative reports by the press about you. Many people are saying that you seemed to be cold and distant with your co-workers, and with your fans as well. That's why they called you as the "Ice Queen." And that's not really good for your image." Boss Ariel started talking.

"But they don't have any complaints about my work, right? I can perfectly do my scenes, and I don't do many bloopers. I always arrive at the set earlier than others... I don't want to force myself on building relationship with others aside from work. That would be really fake." Kara tried to reason out.

"I'm sorry to say this but you're acting like a robot. Yes, the people you work with doesn't have any problems with your work ethics, but you don't really know how to communicate just like a normal human being. You're so cold, distant and indifferent towards other people. You need someone to share your feelings with. You need someone to share your sorrow, anger and happiness." the old man tried to explain.

"It's easy for you to say that, Boss. But how do I do that? And where do I start?" Kara helplessly asked.

"I'm glad you finally asked. Since you're done shooting your latest movie project, I've taken the opportunity to accept a new project that will definitely help you." the CEO stated, while giving them a mysterious smile.

"What kind of project are you talking about, Boss?" Jessica joined in their conversation.

Boss Ariel handed two folders to them.

"Open it and take your time to read it." he instructed.
