Reborn Into Something New

A month and a half passed since Justin, Paul, and Michelle dropped Anna off at the military base in Charton, and her texts and calls had abruptly stopped. Paul had heard from her a week before she was supposed to return home, and she sounded excited about coming back home and seeing everyone again. She told him she was ready to go on an expedition to rescue her mother and the missing kids and bring them home.

Justin got out of the shower, dried off, rubbed his face, and sighed. Anna hadn’t called in a couple of days, and he missed her voice. He rubbed the towel through his hair, looked in the mirror, and heard his cell ring.
He ran toward it and answered.
“Hi, handsome!”
He grinned, chuckled, and sighed in relief.
“Hi, gorgeous. I was just thinking about you,” he snickered.
“I bet. Guess what?”
“What?”
He smiled at the excitement in her voice and hoped she was coming home.
“I’m coming home,” Anna exclaimed, and he chuckled.
“Will you come pick me up?”
“Of course, gorgeous. When? Where?”
There was a pause and he heard someone call her name.
“Five minutes!” she yelled.
“Sorry, um. I’ll be back in two days. Will you?” she asked innocently, and Justin’s heart melted.
He couldn’t wait to hold her, kiss her, and never let her go.
“Justin?”
“Hmm?”
“Will you come pick your hot girlfriend up from the base?”
Did she just say girlfriend?
“Justin, I have to go. See you soon.”
“Anna.”
“Yeah?”
“See you soon, gorgeous girlfriend,” he said.
She smiled and hung up the phone.

Justin went to Glee and picked up Paul and Michelle. After they had arrived, they waited a while, even passed the time she had said to be there, just in case the convoy was running a little late, but no one showed up. Paul had asked one of the guards patrolling where the convoy was, and the guard walked over to the tower and checked his paperwork. He told Paul that there wasn’t a convoy scheduled to come in, and there wouldn’t be one for a while.
Justin, Paul, and Michelle went to the sheriff, and they filed a missing person report and ran an investigation into Anna’s disappearance. The military was very uncooperative with them and would not give any information.
Justin also tried to investigate Anna’s whereabouts and hit dead end after dead end on her whereabouts. The general told him she was on the convoy that day and, she and his men, and the other recruits disappeared.
Where was she? Did she end up getting kidnapped like the others?
They racked their heads with questions. They had to find her no matter what.
Paul gave Justin the information on the facility, and Justin put a team together to rescue everyone. If Anna was there, he had to go get her, and once he did, he was never letting her go.
