week 1 + how to create an initial outline
An immortal being, Selmun (god of grief) fell in love with a mortal woman, Morna. He can bestow immortality on her, but she refuses, although her love for him is true.
They 'meet' in a hospital, where Morna is anxiously waiting for results on her boyfriend's sickness. He is gravely ill, likely to die, but she prays for some miracle that could save him. Selmun takes the form of Dr. Steinman, an immunologist, who offers her an experimental treatment.
Morna tries to convince her boyfriend, Jack, to take the opportunity, otherwise his health will steadily decline, and soon noone will be able to save him, but he doesn't trust the new doctor.
Meanwhile Selmun is confronted by his sister Yanuka (god of pleasure and joy), for taking human form and connecting with the mortals.
Eventually Selmun transfers his godhood to Jack to save him, and live with Morna as a mortal.
Morna's relationship was already on the brink of falling apart and as she grapples with her shame and guilt, it doesn't help that she has the god of grief by her side.
Selmun looked at the woman as she prayed. The little chapel was empty, silent, but her presence filled the air with something that he never felt before. It was sweet, the colours, even though it was dull in there to allow for the grief, seemed brighter. For a moment, he thought he heard laughter, sparkling, and saw the sunlight splashing through the coloured tiles of the window. He stepped closer.
Morna lifted her eyes and stared right through him. Tears ran down her face, and he could feel the grief and guilt in her heart.
'If he survives this, just, I'd do anything! Just make a miracle' she sobbed before falling silent again. Selmun kneeled before her, but as a god, he could not hold her hand, and ease her pain.
He knew, that the woman can't see him, but in his heart he felt love the first time in his long long life.
