'FUNNY ABOUT THAT PHONE call,' said Rafferty as they parted from Shore and got in the car. 'I thought so when it was first mentioned, but then it looked as though our killing was definitely tied up with the other ones, and it just seemed like an unfortunate coincidence. Now, I'm not so sure.'
'Didn't it strike you as odd, too, that the dead woman's husband didn't contact us himself?' Llewellyn asked. 'I know Mr Shore didn't seem to think there was anything strange about it, but even so...'
