“Have you not heard anything I have said?” Vincent shouted angrily for being ignored.
“That’s too loud. I am too timid to hear it,” answered Beth.
“Beth!” Vincent took breaths and calmed down. “Mr. Stone invited us to a party tonight. You must go there with us.”
Beth immediately figured out what was going on. Michael must have asked Vincent to show up with her and that was why Vincent would call her.
“Don’t say I didn’t warn you, behave yourself and be nice to Mr. Stone tonight. And you must tell him that we are good and you are loved and cared for by families.”
Hearing Vincent’s words, Beth was eager to laugh. It was truly shameless for her father to say it.
