13. My Goals is Alex

1072 Words
Shirley POV I sat watching Jonas, my one-year-old son. I couldn't hold back my tears after losing my entire family. I didn't feel energized anymore. My life seemed pointless. I regretted making a mistake with Alex. I had s*x with him and tried to trust him. But instead, he wiped out my entire family. It was a terrible tragedy. I've known for a long time that the shifter packs in Wolftown don't get along. Some formed their own alliances in case of turmoil. But Lycan is usually never brutal. The Lycans felt they had a position above the werewolves and considered them not worthy enemies. It seemed strange that Lycan would suddenly slaughter werewolves. And what was even stranger was that the Lycans now ruled Wolftown. It had been long since Wolftown had been led by someone, and Alex now ruled the town. My mind was racing. I wasn't willing to let him gain power in Wolftown by killing my family. My father was one of the Alphas in Wolftown who had a strong voice against the Lycans. But my father never did any damage. My father never hurt anyone. My father always fought honestly as a soldier. I approached Jonas, who was fast asleep. I kissed his forehead. "I'm sorry, Honey. But I have to do this. Let's pretend you don't have a father. I had to kill Alex for my family's honor," I said through tears. I knew this was a mistake. Jonas knew nothing. He was innocent. But I had to protect my family's dignity. I left the room. I rushed to Peter's room. Some guards prevented me from entering. "Alpha is resting, Lady. You can't disturb him," the guard said. "He won't be mad if I come in. Trust me," I said. I know it's late. But I need to talk to Peter. I don't want to put it off. Peter's room door suddenly opened. He came out of the room. He must have known I was looking for him. "Let her in," Peter said. The guard couldn't go against the Alpha's orders. I immediately went into Peter's room. I was still looking at Peter's bandaged hand. Every time I look at it, I feel so guilty. "What's wrong?" Peter asked. He knows I'm very passionate right now." "I need your help!" I answered. "What is that? If you want to go back to Wolftown, I won't let you," Peter said. "I have to go back to Wolftown. I have to avenge my family's death, Peter!" "You're weak, Shirley. Your wolf can't fight against a Lycan. You know yourself that Lycan is the strongest creature. Jonas needs you!" Peter's reasoning did make sense. I was weak. My father never taught me to fight, even though I was his successor. I was so engrossed in my world that I didn't care about the Pack's business. Back then, I believed that my father would live a long life. Until I discovered the painful truth. "Teach me to fight!" I said with great conviction. "I want to be tough and strong to fight Alex." Peter watched me. He must have known that I meant it. I wouldn't regret my choice. "What's your goal?" Peter asked. "Alex. I want to kill him. I want to find out why Alex killed my family! I want him destroyed for ruining my life and my family!" I screamed. Peter sighed. "Are you ready for the consequences?" "I will always be ready. Although I have to die," I replied with conviction. I didn't flinch. From now on, my life's goal is Alex. *** Five years later. I was standing in a simple house in Wolftown. I just returned to this town after what happened five years ago. I've changed. Now I feel very confident. I dared to return to Wolftown because there was an announcement that the remaining Purple Moon Pack members could live in Wolftown again. This rule was announced a month ago. I won't waste this opportunity. I also bought a house in Wolftown. "Mom, is Peter going to live here too?" Jonas asked who was in my arms. I looked down for a moment. "No, no. Peter will still be in Gruzze," I replied. "We'll start our lives here, Honey." Jonas's face didn't look too excited. He honestly didn't want to live in Wolftown. He was too close to Peter to want to part with him. But I need to focus on my life goals. I decided not to fall in love again. I don't care if I meet another mate. I just want to live with Jonas and focus on Alex. I've prepared so many plans for him. "Lady!" Someone called out to me. I turned around as I unlocked the door to the house. "Excuse me?" I said in surprise. "You're a new Silver Lycan Pack territory resident, right?" a middle-aged woman asked. She seemed to be a resident of this territory. "Yes, I am. Why?" I asked in surprise. "You're a werewolf. Why did you buy a house in Lycan territory? My name is Dena, by the way." "I am so sorry, Mrs. Dena. Isn't there no rule that the Silver Lycan Pack can only be inhabited by Lycans? Didn't the Lycan King agree that other shifters could inhabit this territory?" I said. I wasn't afraid because I hadn't broken any rules. Jonas suddenly stood in front of me. He looked sarcastically at Dena. "I am a Lycan!" I smiled because my son was protecting me. He didn't have to. Dena looked at Jonas. She knew that Jonas was of Lycan descent. Dena's face immediately turned a little annoyed. I hate racism. He only did it because he's a Lycan. They are arrogant creatures. "I just wanted to explain that you must register at the Lycan Dorm office. You have to register yourself. Don't just walk into another shifter's territory." Dona reasoned. "Thank you. I will do that," I replied. I tried to remain calm even though I wanted to throw a tantrum at Dena. Dena left immediately. Meanwhile, I started thinking about the Lycan Dorm. I had to report that I was moving to Wolftown. I have to take care of some administrative matters. "Jonas, I think we should go somewhere," I said. Jonas didn't seem to pay much attention to my words even though he answered. "Where?" "Lycan Dorm. We should report there," I replied with a smile.
