Shirley POV
Alex and I returned to the Lycan King's residence. I didn't say anything when we arrived. I didn't dare say anything because I knew Alex must be shocked.
"Mr. Brisney. Would you like to..." Caleb was about to offer something to Alex, but Alex's hand immediately stretched forward right in front of Caleb.
"I want to be alone, Caleb. Please."
I nodded at Caleb to make room for Alex. I didn't want to disturb him either. I let Alex walk away while I stood on the porch with Caleb.
I sighed that it was over even though it wasn't entirely over. I still couldn't believe that Peter had always lied to me.
"You might as well get some rest, Shirley Mendes. Maybe Mr. Brisney will do something tomorrow," Caleb said. "You must be in shock too."
