Alex POV
I just got out of my car. I came to the Lycan Dorm as usual. Some of the officers working at the Lycan Dorm greeted me. I just smiled briefly.
Five years have passed since I became the leader of Wolftown. I made many changes. Back then, the Silver Lycan Pack's territory could only be inhabited by Lycans. And the Lycan Dorm was located in the Lycan territory. No other shifters were allowed in this territory. But I made a new rule. I want other shifters to live in Lycan territory. Not without reason. I want all the packs to mingle. I really wish there was peace in Wolftown.
I was considered authoritarian and also had crazy ideas. Every rule I make is always controversial. At first, they strongly opposed every rule I made. But I'm the Lycan King. No one can go against my orders. They all had to submit them to me.
Like one new rule, I've made this year. I allowed the remaining Purple Moon Pack members to stay in Wolftown territory. Purple Moon Pack is truly quite a serious issue in Wolftown. Five years ago, there were indeed many events that shook Wolftown.
And I don't want the shifters in Wolftown to constantly remember that time. Of course, my decision received strong opposition from the Alphas, especially my father-in-law. The Crescent Moon Pack and Purple Moon Pack have always been at odds. It's just that I don't want hatred to continue in Wolftown. I don't want any more riots or fights.
When I was about to enter my office. A boy bumped into me. Did I want to be angry? But when I saw the little boy fall to the floor, I reflexively helped him.
"Where are your parents?" I asked.
The little boy was silent. He gave no response and only apologized.
"Hi, I was asking you a question, Little boy." I reprimanded him. This boy was never taught by his parents to respect the Lycan King.
"Are you a Lycan?" that boy asked.
I was stunned. This boy dared to talk to me and look into my eyes without fear. He would have been terrified to meet me if it was any other shifter.
I noticed this boy's stature. He was a Lycan; I could see that. But I'm not sure he's a pure Lycan.
"Are you a hybrid, Boy?" I asked.
And again, that boy didn't answer my question. This was a little annoying. I'm not used to children. My wife didn't give me any offspring. She was always paranoid that I was cheating and wanted to have a child with another woman. Bianca has indeed changed. Though I kept her by my side, even though I received a lot of pressure to find a new wife who could give me offspring.
"What are you doing here, Boy?" I asked again. I had to smile to face this boy. I'm not usually like this with children. I don't really like chatting with kids.
"My mother applied to be a citizen in this town," replied that boy.
"Oh?" I just understood why this boy didn't respect me. He didn't know I was the leader of Wolftown. "You are from another place. So where are you from, boy?"
"My mother told me. I cannot talk with strangers," that boy said.
I felt very awkward with that boy's answer. He was about five or six years old. I couldn't believe he was so smart.
"Okay. Your mom is right. You cannot talk with someone you don't know. But in this place, you must know someone you must respect," I said.
"Who?" that boy asked so innocently.
"Me," I replied. Why do I feel like this boy is like me? He was brave and smart. I kind of saw myself in this boy.
"Why do I have to respect you? Are you an Alpha?" that boy asked me again.
Oh, damn. What have I done? Why do I have to put up with this boy? I have work to do. But this boy is like a magnet. I didn't feel like stopping to talk to him. Until someone approached me in a hurry.
"Sir, Caleb is detaining someone," the female officer said.
I turned my head towards the female officer. I looked into her eyes to see what she would say. I didn't want this boy to hear the adult talk.
"Teddy Mendes' daughter?" I was so surprised. "Shirley?" I muttered to myself.
I hadn't heard that name since five years ago. The Lycans were looking for her because she dared to enter my house.
"Can you look after this boy?" Before I went to Shirley, I wanted this boy taken care of. "Don't let him wander off."
"Alright, Sir," the female officer replied.
I then looked at the little Lycan. He was looking at me with his small, clear eyes. Why do I feel like I know this boy? I don't think I've ever met him before.
"You can't wander around this place. You must sit on the seat and wait quietly. Do you understand?" I gave a warning.
"I understand, Sir. You don't need to tell me," that boy replied.
The officer immediately covered that boy's mouth. She felt reluctant because he thought that boy was rude.
I quickly walked away. I didn't want to spend time playing with the little boy. I immediately went to the special room used to meet with Wolftown residents.
I opened the door to the room in a hurry. This time I hoped Shirley wouldn't run away again. I saw a woman wearing long jeans and a black suit sitting casually before Caleb. She crossed her arms and stared intently at Caleb. I wasn't sure if she was Shirley. No one would dare to be that arrogant to Caleb. Caleb is one of the most feared Lycan in Wolftown after me. He was very cold and also strict with everyone.
"Sir." Caleb immediately stood up when he saw me coming.
The woman sitting in front of Caleb also turned to me. I was surprised when I saw her.
"Y-You?"
