JACOB HELD ME in a tight embrace. Even though I only overheard his conversation with Mrs. Ausejo, and her accusations were not directed to me, my heart still hurts for Ate Charissa. I know that my friend has a pure heart. She definitely does not deserve to be spoken ill of. How did Mrs. Ausejo come up with those nasty things? She treated Ate Charissa worse than a parasite. All my maid wanted was to help her family. What's so wrong with that? Her job is decent, and it pays well. There are excellent benefits in what she does, and she gets free boarding.
