"Jade, it's Saturday. You're not going to sit around the house all day," my mother sighed as she clicked off the television. "I was watching that," I murmured. "Not anymore. It's gorgeous out. Go call up Miles or that Lindsay girl, just get out," my mother ordered, bending down to kiss my forehead, “I love you.” I sighed and squished my face in pretend disgust. I slumped to the front door where I slid on my shoes and stepped out into the sunshine. My mother was right; it was beautiful outside. It was just past noon and the sun was high in the sky, warming my skin as the light spring breeze rustled through my auburn hair.
