Chapter 12 “Aurora,” said Agent Reid without looking away from Sean. Her tone—and her eyes, when he risked a glance—were very cold. The tension in the room shot up, palpable to Sean, like the very air was pressing against him, trying to choke him. He let go of his crystal—just for a moment, he didn’t want Agent Reid to grab it up—and the feeling grew less intense. He swallowed and took hold of the crystal again. He didn’t want to believe what Agent Reid was saying, but it was difficult not to feel whatever the hell was going on.
