5 | Little Wolf

CILLIAN “You are a f*****g coward! A bloody monster who killed his own father! You are an abomination, Alpha Cillian.” Her words echoed like a bomb and a tight slap right across the cheek. I had seen men sneer and snarl before me, but never a female who hated me with such passion.  She was brave, and I’d give her that.  But just when I was beginning to appreciate that bravery, she crossed a line. And I was not a man without limitations.  “Out! Everyone!”  I didn’t bother to see how quickly they left, but when the soft thud of the door reached my ears, I was convinced that it was just the little captive wolf and me now.  I recalled Cole’s words, labeling her as an ‘innocent,’ and I mentally scoffed. Innocent, my ass. Kiera quickly averted her eyes in order to hide her fear, but the way her throat worked was a clear giveaway. But that stupid arrogance and pride she has harbored in her heart prevented her from acknowledging it.  Her stubbornness made me want to break that pride. I wanted to pry her open and see what laid hidden inside that glorious and divine face. I wanted to see if she was as righteous as she claimed to be.  “If you’d let her easy, she’d walk all over you,” a voice inside my head screamed. I needed to teach her a lesson, or she will keep challenging my authority, embarrassing me, and this entire plan will fail. I slowly rose to my feet and towered over her, trapping her body with mine as I planted my hands on the couch. “You have heard of monsters, little wolf,” I whispered low in her ears and watched her shiver. “Your father forgot to you tell that monsters live within the souls of the shifters. It’s about time you meet my monster.”  Without giving her a reprise, I flipped her over, and she was convinced that I was going to hit her. “You can torture me all you want or kill me, but it won’t serve your purpose,” she said frantically in an attempt to self-preserve. Instead, I quickly unlocked her chains and freed her arms. Then, grabbing the chains, I threw them as they clattered against the floor.  “Why will I kill you when I can break you so easily and then piece you back, one day at a time?” I challenged darkly. “How satisfying it will be to have the pliant little wolf under my thumb.”  Kiera immediately sprang to her feet and wobbled a little to find her balance. And before she could do anything stupid, I warned heavily, “Don’t try for the door. Because one, it is locked, and even if you manage to open it, I have my men are waiting outside. And if I have to chase you down, I’d keep you in f*****g chains for the next week.” “Do your worst, bastard,” she spat and only stepped back a little to widen the distance between us. It almost made me chuckle. “Believe me. You don’t want to see my worst. But since you asked, I will gladly deliver. Let’s begin with that stupid pride of yours. I want to see how proud you look when you are naked.”  Her eyes widen. “You wouldn’t—“ “Strip,” I commanded, injecting every bit of steel I could afford. “You can either do it by yourself, or I will cut you out of the clothes. And if I have to take up all the trouble, I will make sure I enjoy it as well.”  Kiera took another two steps back just as I stalked closer. “Just kill me already,” she whispered. “That’s it?” I quirked up a brow. “You are giving up? Where did all the fire go?” She made a disgusted face. “I won’t let you defile me.”  I closed the gap between us in two long strides and had her back against the wall. My arms planted on either side of her face as a low growl emitted from my throat. “Fear looks good on you, almost natural and beautiful,” I said in a low voice, dipping my face. Immediately, I caught the whiff of her smell. “Is that how you like women, to be afraid of you?” she quipped back. “Your soul is blacker than the devil.”  I nearly laughed. “For once, I’d agree with you.” I took a few steps back, just enough to accommodate her, and stood with my arms crossed over my chest. “Now, enough with the chit-chat. Take off your clothes and face the wall. And one more word of defiance, and I will act on my promise.” I watched as her breathing grew rapid and shallow, and the apprehension was very apparent on her face. Her eyes darted towards the door, and I knew what she was thinking. But Kiera was no airheaded female. She was aware of her risks and abilities.  Kiera pursed her lips and reached around to pull down the zipper of her navy blue dress with a loud hiss. The fabric was soiled and stained due to our last encounter and the struggle it ensued as I watch her yank it down in anger.  “Satisfied?” She glared as she stood before me clad in a black lacy bra and matching panties.  “Not even by a long shot.” I flashed her a knife. “Are you going to do the honors, or shall I?”  “You are an asshole.”  I winked. “You have made that abundantly clear, little wolf.”   Seething, she silently complied, peeling off the rest of the layers of clothing and tossed them aside.  Every hot-blooded male would agree that Kiera was a sight to behold. It wasn’t just her creamy skin or generous curves, but the kind of power she held in her nakedness.  Kiera was truly unbowed and unbent. I might have been able to raze off her pride a little bit, but she still held the cards. For the first time in my life, I met a shifter worthy of the challenge.  “Turn around and hands on the wall,” I ordered.  “I don’t take orders from you,” she snapped.  “Then I suggest you start doing that.” I stalked a step closer once again, crowding her space. “Starting now.”  “You are not my alpha.” “But I am ‘the Alpha.’ And right now, I am also the one who holds your future. So tell me, little wolf, you want to fight me naked?”  Anger and embarrassment warred in her hazel eyes as they glowed. I could see how badly her wolf wanted to come out, to bare its teeth and claw at my face. But, at last, she gave in.  “I hate you.” With that, Kiera turned around and braced her hands on the walls.   Despite the soiled skin, a few wounds, she was sheer perfection. Every curve, every dip was accentuated, and I longed to felt the velvet of her skin under my fingers. A wild, insistent pounding throbbed at the back of my head as the animal inside of me growled. My eyes trailed down to her legs, where a small but gashing wound appeared. And the moment I touched, Kiera almost jumped and twisted around. “Relax,” he murmured, inspecting the cut. “The wolfsbane in your bloodstream slowed your ability to self-heal the wounds. So, I guess we have to get it sterilized.”  “And who do you think was responsible for this?” she spewed back. Fates, she was impossible! She just did not know how to shut the f**k up. Shaking my head, I gathered her clothes from the floor and tossed them at her. “There is a washroom upstairs,” I said. “Take a shower and clean the wounds before you infect them any further.”  She clutched the clothes to her body, covering her breasts. “Why the hell do you care?”  “I care because I can’t have you infected with a stupid wound, little wolf. I plan to hurt you even more.”
