I still can’t believe it. She’s back. My heart is healed. My life is complete. It was as if the last eleven years had been a horrid nightmare that I had just awoken from as I watched Madeline dig ravishingly into the feast Ruby had sent to the tower. I smiled as she teared feverishly into the steak, juices running down her chin.
“Don’t look at me, Arius! I’m disgusting,” she mumbled with narrowed eyes and a mouth full of meat.
“I don’t think I will ever be able to tear my eyes away from you ever again. I am too scared you will vanish.”
She tries to smile as she chews, and all I see is a mouthful of meat. I can’t help but chuckle. “Eat as much as you can. I want you back to full health as soon as possible.”
