Kidnapped

As they left, Diana remembered that the necklace is still in her hands. She looked at her brother’s back before she turned around and went back towards the mansion.

Diana stealthily went back inside the house, into her sister’s room. She put the necklace back on the lamp where she took it earlier. And then she looked at her sister, still sleeping soundly on the bed.

“You are fortunate they love you enough to give you everything.”Diana whispered.

Diana sighed and fixed her sister’s blanket. She was about to leave when she remembered the cook. Their family cook that was nice to them when they were kids. She recalled Damon saying that he didn’t see any helpers around.

Is that even possible that a house this big will not have any helpers? Diana thought.

So she glided through the shadows towards the kitchen. The whole kitchen looked exactly like how she remembered. Only it was dusty, and as if no one has set foot in the kitchen for years. She remembered her mother was a neat freak so why is the kitchen so dirty? Where are the cleaners?

Diana looked around for more clues. She went towards the helper’s quarters and that too looked abandoned. What happened to the whole house that it looked like a haunted house? She clearly remembers it that their house was like a palace. Their parents is the most powerful and influential people in Harred despite not being royalty.

Harred does not have a royal family. The Kingdom is led by the Democratic Council consists of the kingdom’s elders. The people will also elect a Council Minister to join the council as the people’s voice.

Diana pulled down her hood and she began inspecting stuff in the house, looking for clues or anything. In the helper’s quarters, she saw several boxes. She opened one and she was surprised to see her old clothes. Not just her old clothes but her stuff toys as well. She dug in more, and she pulled out a dragon plushie. She remembers that it was her favourite when she was little. The house cook gave it to her, and her brother has one too. She brought the plushie to her chest, hugging it. She opened another box in search for her brother’s plushie. When she got it, she looked at it with a smile, two identical dragon plushie that has their name on it.

She grabbed her small bag that Helios bewitched so it can store anything and everything. She put the plushies inside and dug around more. She found old photos and more of their old clothes.

She was busy digging up the boxes that she didn’t notice the movements behind her. Diana was so invested into finding their old stuff that she didn’t even hear the hissing. When she suddenly felt dread, she stopped what she was doing. She turned around and her eyes widened when she came face to face with a monstrous image. And before she could do something, the creature blow smoke to her face, making her loss her consciousness.

Diana groaned, feeling nauseous. She slowly opened her eyes and all she sees is darkness. She blinked her eyes a few times and waited until it adjusts in the dark.

As her eyes began to see in the dark, she noticed that she’s in some underground room, but she cannot understand the nauseating feeling. Diana tried to get, but when she did she began to sway as if she was floating.

“The heck.”She hissed.

“We’re inside a boat.”

Diana was startled when she heard someone talked. She turned around and squinted her eyes, and in the very back of the place she was in, were a couple of people huddled together.

There were men, women and even children at the back, looking scared and confused.

“What do you mean we’re in a boat?”Diana asked.

“Exactly what I said. We’re in a boat. Those creatures took us and when we woke up we are here.”One man said.

“Creatures?”

“Those ugly snake-like creatures.” A woman said.

And it all came back to Diana. She was rummaging through her old stuff when she felt something. When she turned around, she saw a snake like creature and then that was it. The next memory was walking up.

“A-Are you kidnapped as well?”Another girl asks, and Diana nodded.

Diana sat on a corner, and think about the situation. Being captured may not be a bad thing but a good thing. Maybe she can find out where the victims are taken and then she’ll let her brother know.

Her brother.

Diana was sure as hell that her brother is fuming in frustration right now. She defied his instructions and left his side, she also got herself taken. She’ll just have to take all his rants when they’re done with this mission.

It was too late when Damon noticed that his sister was not following him. He immediately looked around for her but he cannot find her. He tried to find her using their connection but it was no use. He spends all night looking for her until it was morning. Damon was losing hope until the thought of their old house came to his mind.

He immediately went back to their house, and blended in the shadows as he searches for his sister. He searched every corner of the house for his sister or any clue of her whereabouts but nothing.

Damon was about to leave the house when he heard people talking. He went towards where the voice is coming from. The voices are coming from the huge dining room.

“Mother, did you by any chance go to my room last night?”Desiree asked.

Their mother took a sip of her coffee.

“No dear, why is that?”Rowena Krueger asked not looking at her daughter.

“It’s just I felt like someone’s inside my room last night.”Desiree said.

“You must be dreaming.”Their father, James said while reading the newspaper.

Desiree looked down on her plate.

“I need to go to the council building today. I need to know if there’s any development regarding the kidnappings.”Desiree said.

“Do as you wish dear.”Rowena said taking a bite of her pancake.

“Why does the council keep on sending their pathetic soldiers to investigate the kidnappings? They’re always unsuccessful.”James asked.

“They are not sending their soldiers this time father.”Desiree answered.

“Oh yeah? Who’s the i***t they are sending this time?”James asked his daughter.

“They sent a letter to Aragon. They asked assistance from the Shadow Knights.”Desiree said.

And then Rowena and James Krueger suddenly fell silent.

“The Shadow Knights you said?”Rowena asked.

“Yes mother, I actually met two of them.”Desiree said.

James scoffed.

“Let’s see if those good for nothing experiments can solve such mystery.”James said.

Listening to what their parents say, just made Damon hiss in anger. He left the place and continued to search for his sister.
