15 I tried to get her back for the next hour, but eventually I couldn’t keep my eyes open any longer. I fell asleep sitting up in bed. By the time I woke up this morning, there were already four messages on my cell phone. Which made me feel a little guilty, since they were all from my mom, but also a little pleased with myself, because not one of them had interrupted my session with Halli last night. “Hi, honey,” she said when I called her back. “I’ve been trying you since last night—” “I know—I’m sorry.
