Chapter Fourteen
The exhibition room was not far from the dining hall, but it seemed to Krissy that it took forever to crawl there. Once she arrived, she wished that it had taken longer. The room was large, floored with paving stones, the walls dark stone, the high ceiling of heavy wooden beams supporting wood planking. Near the far end of it stood some sort of framework. The robed man began leading her towards it, and for a moment she tried to pull back. All he did was take a stronger grip on her leash and pull. The collar dug into her neck, cutting off her breath and after a moment she had to go where she was led. Many of the dinner guests were already there, sitting expectantly on cheap, stackable plastic chairs that had been provided for them. All Krissy dared to look at was their fee
