Fight back

Ryan could only watch her leave his sight after throwing the document at him, her face crumpled down in a disapproving frown. “You can't force me to do things against my will. I'm sorry, but your silly threat can't move me…" She had told him before leaving, stomping her foot away. A deep but low grunt escaped his throat as he clenched his fist tightly, gritting his teeth in anger. “How dare her?” He growled under his breath, more like speaking to himself. He was angry —no, he was in rage, and he felt like his anger would take over him soon. How did the table turn against him in a snap of a finger, eh? Did he not threaten her enough, or maybe he threatened her more than he was supposed to? Ryan thought, his mind was clouded in confusion. He badly wants to end everything with her, but she's making it seems hard, like there is a big deal in it, but to him, he found none. “… Why try to breach the contract midway for no reason?.” Her voice rang loudly in his ears. Who cares whether he's trying to breach the contract or not? No one and he doesn't either. ‘It's my decision, yeah. Why does it matter to anyone?’ He muttered under his breath, his fuzzy mind setting out to think through of a way to make her do as he had planned. He could not wait any longer, he wanted her gone as soon as she can. He had married her on contract because he needed to buy himself out urgently, but now that he felt it was all settled, he needed her no more? After several minutes of battling with his inner self, he just couldn't come up with anything good thing to hold on with. She has no weak state —not the one he knows of, he could have threatened her with, and she doesn't seem like she's ready to see reasons with him. ‘How am I to go about her?’ He thought with in himself, running his fingers through his hair and ruffling it, too. Ryan thought the best way was if he kept ringing it in her, she might think he was not being serious with her —to him, his persistence would prove he was not joking with her from the start. Seeing that there weren't any better thoughts to it, he decided in settling for it without thinking twice about it —well, he needed not to think twice. ******* Night fell quicker than expected and a few hours had passed, Ciara was expecting he will still come to her but was surprised to not to see him, she concluded that maybe he had gone to sleep, or possibly, he was still in the living room ‘cause it's too early for Ryan to go to bed. Like an owl, he barely sleeps at night and if he does —it's only for a few hours. This was unusual, and it felt odd to her —the Ryan she had come to know won't let her off the hook that easily, else he gets whatever he wants from her. Ciara, on the apart from, who has been expecting him, was never ready to give in to his request either. It might be his and not her decision to make, but she just could not allow him to breach their contract for some reason best known to him alone. Still, she dreaded he might have something up his sleeves. Pushing her thoughts aside, she decided to go check on him in the living room but was surprised it was empty with no traces of him in sight. On most nights like this, he's always pouring himself some wine, but he was nowhere in sight, where could he have gone to? Ciara wondered, feeding her eyes with the sight before her. ‘Maybe he must have gone to his room then…’ She thought with in herself with an intention of checking up on him in his room. She did know why, but she just felt like she should. She shrugged her shoulders lightly, well, it's not a bad thought if she does so. Just when she was about heading back, the corner of her left eye caught a glimpse of the document. It was laying on the center table. There is no way for it to be lying there itself because she remembered throwing it on his face and had angrily left him when he would not stop threatening her. Who does that? She had wanted to shred the document to pieces before his eyes instead, but she quickly held herself from doing such. She was afraid he might do something drastic to her, he is the type with anger issue. Strutting towards the center table, she picked it up and decided to go through it once again, since she felt she didn't understand what was written in it in the first place —she needed to be certain it wasn't on a joke and empty threat. Going through it once again, Ciara realized that no matter how much she goes through it, she will still be left awestruck and bewildered. ‘What was he thinking for him to come up with an idea of divorce?’ She muttered like she was trying to read his mind as though he were before her. She was pleased with him because he decided to be considerate, he had promised a few of his assets as compensation for the divorce. Ciara knew that few of his assets as mentioned means fortune, but she wasn't moved a bit. She needed not his money…she wanted something else from him instead. It doesn't sound right, but it does feel right to her, she can't just leave midway and not because he wanted her to. Ciara was never the type to fall for any guy, but lately, she realized she's starting to get head over heels with him, and she is not ready to let go of him —no matter how much he tries…
