When she couldn’t give him any information about Rachel Gooding’s whereabouts, he phoned Sheriff Jake Sullivan. “Have you heard from Rachel Gooding since she went to Japan?” he asked. “No,” Jake said. “I wasn’t even sure she’d gone.
