AVALON One step I went. Another I followed, and my heart thumped in my chest. Fear, excitement and a little bit of something reigned in my chest. And that something sure had to do with Merrick being with me. With the way he was dressed, I knew he was not heading to the office today. Especially with that look of determination on his face that noted he was here to train for himself more than he was here for me. It made me wonder if it had anything to do with the stranger, like he was certain he would return. As we walked, I looked at our laced hands.
