I hated seeing that worried look in Avalon’s eyes. I wanted to do so much for her, and I wanted her to be able to depend on me for whatever it was she needed here in the castle, but right now, it felt like I was failing to prove to her that I could be that strong pillar.
To say that I couldn’t understand what was going on was an understatement. And normally, knowing that Lance or Renee were behind this mess would have been tortured out of them, but that was exactly what Lance wanted. He was trying to force violence out of us, and for him to have every reason to take over the title of Alpha King like he had always planned.
Finding evidence right now was the best approach for all of us. It would keep Avalon here, and it would keep Lance away from the throne for some time.
