Alessandro escaped…..

Fear stroked and chills ran through Nate’s body. First thing came to his mind was the safety of Liv. It was already midnight and he tried to call her but there was no response. So he left a text for her to stay at her condo. Nate went to the warehouse to know exactly what happened. He was finding it to difficult not to snap at someone.

Nate and Mason called all the guards and the in-charge responsible for holding Alessandro locked in there. He could not hold his anger anymore.

“How the hell did he escape?” He growled making all the men present there scare for their life.

“Again he was able to get out of our hold, just like that.” Nate yelled and knocked the vase on the flower. He was reaching his end point.

“Sir, we-we had him chained an… and the room was locked but we can’t figure out how he break out the room. He knocked down the men who we...were to supposed stand at guard. S...so he is nowhere to be found now.” The man was finding difficulty to speak in front of Nate because of the dangerous expression paying on his face.

“So just like that, he disappeared in the thin air.” Nate whispered in a dangerously low tone. He was about to head towards the man speaking in front of him but Mason held him back.

“Sir, we knew who we were dealing with, hurting our own men is of no use. I have already sent men who are searching him every where possible. He definitely had someone to help him plan his escape.”Mason tried to calm Nate down.

“Bring me all the footage of the warehouse and send security to Olivia’s condo and make sure she is safe.” Nate ordered his men and went to the room he has Alessandro locked in.

Again he was able to dodge a bullet and Nate lost a great opportunity. But he realized something that Alessandro has some strong allies who actually have nerves to go against Nathaniel Knight. Now he needs to prepare way more meticulously, so that this time there is no game. Even if Nate had to kill Alessandro as soon as he lays eyes on him, he was ready and needed this game to be over. All the forces that are helping Alessandro need to go down to actually get hold of Alessandro.

Nate went to the room and found out the bolts of a table unscrewed explains how he got out of chains but the biggest question was how did he get out of the warehouse. Mason brought all the footage of the area around the warehouse in Nate’s office also informed him about Liv’s safety. Entire night Nate went through all the footage and made various discoveries. He was constantly trying to call or message Liv.

The sun shined through the ceiling-long window in Nate’s office. He was sleep deprived and exhausted but he had lot going on his mind. It was already 7 am and there was still no reply from Liv. Nate was getting worried from this cold shoulder from Liv. He really did not know whether she was busy or trying not to respond to him. At 7:15 AM, Liv finally picked up the call after like a millions of calls and message.

“Hey, Liv” Nate said with a relieved tone.

“Hi” Olivia’s voice felt a little cold to Nate but he put that aside for a awhile.

“Why didn’t you pick up my call or replied? I was getting worried here Liv.” Nate met with a complete silence from the other side of the phone.

“Liv?”

“Yeah, I was busy.”

“Everything ok?”

“Uh-huh everything’s fine. I have to leave for work. I will talk to you later.” And she hung up the call.

Nate was sure something was wrong. Her cold and distant voice did not sit well with him. He tried to pinpoint to the events occurred in fast few days. Maybe she was mad at him for not calling but that still would not make her that distant. He called his security head to come to his office.

“Did you find anything useful from the footage?” Mason asked as he entered Nate’s office.

“Yes, there is one man who entered the warehouse and he knew almost all the blind spots our men would avoid. Whoever it was, they were pretty experienced.” Nate stated as he sipped his coffee.

“What are the updates from security team for Liv?” Nate asked Mason.

“They are still there; she has not left the building so it’s easier to ensure her safety.”

“She hasn’t?” Now Nate’s doubt was come true, there was definitely something wrong and he needs to find it.

“Is there something that happened to Olivia in past two days?” Nate asked to know the root of the problem.

“Not that I know of but there is something regarding you! You remember meeting Nora King yesterday?”

“Who?” Nate asked not understanding the point of bringing her in this conversation.

“The girl with Bill and well the meeting was claimed as a date by the tabloids and apparently that girl is also a model and the news is all over the place.” Mason informed with an unbothered tone.

“God! Why didn’t you tell me this before?” Nate got frustrated and started to understand the reason for Liv’s cold voice.

“What you being the talk of the town with a model? What’s new about that-huh?”

“You know how I feel about, Liv. How must she have felt when saw that segment...Ugh!”

“I thought…”

“Don’t think just make sure every men are trained and know about what’s coming?” Nate commanded and left his office with his car keys. 

Nate wanted to keep a distance from Olivia but did not want her to get hurt. He will definitely get those gossip mongers a taste of his medicine but right now his first priority is to clear the misunderstanding that has been created between him and Liv. He can’t believe that it has not even been a week for their first date and troubles are already making its way into their life. He sped up the speed of his car because even the thought of her getting hurt is very unsettling to him.

All night I could not get any sleep, that was not a new thing for me but yesterday night, one more reason added to the list for keeping me up for the night. I woke up from my sleep at midnight as a usual routine from my nightmares and saw Nate’s calls and messages wanting to know where I am. The calls continued for entire night but I did not have energy or will to even listen to his voice. I could not understand the meaning of his messages as well. But in the morning I finally gave in and picked up his call. His voice- god his voice had the capability to make me melt but I can’t. He sounded like he was relieved as I picked up his call and that made me think again about yesterday. Nate does not care and you need to be strong Liv my mind butted in and this time my heart did not have a strong point to keep and mind won this battle.

Liv could not continue to talk to him because even his voice was hurting her. She intended to hear him but him acting like nothing happened pissed her off and she hung up the call, him not calling after their first date and Nate being intimate with someone else totally threw her off and her insecurities started to surface again. 

There was a knock on her door and she peeped through the door hole and Nate was standing there. She could not understand what was he doing there and why?

She opened the door. Nate was still dressed in his suit but tiredness was evident on his face. Liv looked no better as she was not able to get a good sleep.

“Liv” Nate called Liv and he could see Olivia was not herself. Liv invited him in, she knew that for her to snap out of the affect of Nate she need to know his side of story and then only she can return back to her own life same as before.

“Liv, I am sorry I was not able to call you due to some important work.” Nate tried to initiate conversation.

“It’s okay really there is no obligation for you to call me. I understand.” Liv said very calmly.

This calm tone of Liv broke Nate’s heart and that she thought she was not important to him.

“Liv, please don’t say like that. You remember when you told me that we both have to deal with baggage to be together, the key is communication Liv. Talk to me, please” Nate said with a pleading tone.

They were standing in Liv’s living room. “What do you want me to say, huh? That how you were so good to me one day and other day you are seen being intimate with a girl. What do you want to me think or say at this time? Tell me Nate. I thought you were different from what tabloids wrote about you all the time, I never judged you from what I have read about you in past because the Nathaniel Knight I met in the club, the man who talked to me and kept me company for one week in Italy and took me to a great date was not same man they wrote about but boy was I wrong! You were indeed the ruthless playboy billionaire everyone claimed you to be.” Liv let all her inner feelings out front and she felt a mix of emotion from her sudden outburst. There was a pregnant silence in the room. Nate eyes could mirror the hurt he was feeling in his heart. Liv was affected as well with his expression.

“That’s what you think about me.” Nate said with a tone that tucked the strings of Liv’s heart. Nate ran his hands through his hair.

“I don’t know what to think anymore Nate. I would not have believed those gossips but there were photos and you not calling me and your history; was not helping. You told me communication is the key but did you think about using that key yourself?”  Liv voice started to c***k at the end.

Liv was right, Nate decided to maintain the distance from her for her safety and it is understandable but did he think what Liv will go through if the person that she has opened up to starts ignoring her without any reason. Any decision regarding two lives should always be taken considering both sides.

Nate pulled Liv towards his chest. “Hug me!” Nate pleaded her. She still rested her hands on her sides and did not respond to him. “Please” this buckled Liv and she wrapped her hands around his torso. They stayed there for a moment and then Nate brought his forehead rested it against Liv’s.

“I’ll tell you everything just give me a chance to explain myself, Liv.” Nate whispered. Liv nodded her head and they sat on the couch.

“The date which we had was the best thing that happened to me in a long time and I would not ruin it for the world. Trust me on this. I did not wanted to you be overwhelmed by my emotions and decided to take it slow but today seeing those tears in your eyes made me realize what I felt was not one-sided. I feel for you Liv and yes I do have an impression of a playboy but not even a single girl has crossed my mind except you since the day I met you.”

Liv could see the truth in his eyes and she was overwhelmed by his confession but she didn’t want this moment to end. She just nodded her head with a small smile. This assured Nate that he could continue.

“Yesterday, I was working and I am dealing with a very sensitive matter that needed my presence in a meeting. So I went to the restaurant for the meeting and the person I was supposed to meet arrived there with a girl; whose name is Nora. We were standing in front of my car and the camera angle made that look intimate. I was there with my Head of security and there were other men but tabloids made it look like it was just me and her.” Nate explained calmly about the events.

“I should have known better.” Liv regretted behaving such rashly as she knows better than anyone how media twists any news. But her insecurities clouded her rational thinking and made suffer as well.

“Liv, you have been in this industry for a long time, I am sure a photo can’t just make you believe that. There’s definitely something more to it.” Nate asked her.

“I went to a get together and Nora is a model from Elite she was also there. I didn’t know anything till then. She came and started bragging about the date she had with Nathaniel Knight and other model was sharing her past experience with you. But still I did not trust any of them and was thinking of calling you and then I saw the news that just accumulated and burst out. I am really sorry for not listening to you.”

“Thank you for giving me a chance to explain myself. I will never do that to you. I did not even have the meeting as I didn’t like her vibes.” Nate said and kissed her forehead. Liv leaned into his shoulder and relaxed. Nate relaxed as well and felt like home with Liv but there was still some secrets which he need to confront and he will do that soon.
