The first meeting 2

Nathaniel's POV I decided to go the club with Daniel and I am completely regretting it right now. He is going on about some girl and how he couldn't bring himself to ask her out. I really don't understand concept of asking someone out for date and I wish it remain like that. He tells me that he wanted to go to this club to know her more. I just kept on nodding along with his description of complicated.   We reached the club and I remember one of my company's subsidiaries invested in this club. As we entered the club it was same loud music, booze and people dancing crazily. Daniel was about to call his friend and I decided to get a drink at the bar.    "Brother, at least come to VIP section."  "I remember telling you no funny business." I warned him again as I got seated at the bar stool.  "Fine, have fun with yourself." Daniel muttered with a sarcastic tone and went to find his friend.    I never really liked hanging out with people except for the business, of course my siblings being the exception. They are really important to me but my words or my exterior has never expressed the same. Daniel and Emma are those annoying siblings who never leave you alone no matter what and I love them for that.   I was having my drink and trying to ignore the loud Taylor swift song playing but something caught my attention. A beautiful girl grooving with music and was completely lost in her world. Of all the people crazily dancing on the floor but her moves were gracious and differentiating her from the crowd. She turned her head to look at me but I was saved by a phone call to be caught for staring at her like a creep.   I got away from the music to take the call and it was my brother calling me upstairs. I went to my bar stool and I find her sitting on the stool beside mine. The moment I sat next to her she turned her head to take a look at me and turned back to her drink. That one look was more than enough for me to feel something.  I ordered drink for both of us and first word she spoke, her voice, her eyes were so captivating I could not even look away from her. She was dressed in black fitted dress with slit along her leg; her eyes were fierce and contained many emotions which I can't comprehend. She was gorgeous.  We started to talk and decided to go to the VIP section of the club. Her name Olivia really suited her and the way Nathaniel rolled out of her tongue made me realize me my name is not so bad all together. "Whipped" as my brother would quote. I felt little shocked when my name didn't register anything to her. Her friend turned out to be the "friend” my brother was eating my head about, she looked at me with a shocked look whereas Olivia was looking between her friend and Daniel. When Daniel addressed as the rising supermodel, it occurred to me where I have seen her before.   All four of us started to chat about different stuff with other people present there as well but my entire attention was towards Olivia whose every activity was just so adorable. I really could not take my eyes off her. She was not at all intimidated by me like other people in booth. She would look at me and turn to talk to her friends but we did have some small talk. I finally brought myself to ask her number and was on cloud nine when she gave in.   On our way to home, I was still contemplating what to send her or should I call her then. My brother's voice interrupted that thought.   "I thought you said no funny business." He reminded me while I was still thinking about our conversation back in the club.  "So today I got to see Nathaniel Knight not only talk to a girl but also ask her number. There is hope in the world."  "What is so great about that, Daniel?" I tried to play it cool in which I was failing miserably.  "Alright tell me one girl with whom you have gone forward from one night stand."   He was right about that but Olivia was not some girl she was different. I was able to forget all the worries in the world and just wanted to talk to her and let alone just look at her. I entered my residence and for the first time I felt warmth, comfort after such a long time. But can this continue, will it last were the thoughts that started to enter my mind. I texted her a good night.  Today for the first time standing at the balcony I knew what I was looking for My peace. But that didn't last long. I found my phone buzzing crazily.    Third person's POV  As the call ended, Nate grey eyes turned few shade darker and his face was full of rage. Just the time he thought he could live his life without worrying about him but his life's biggest hindrance surfaces every damn time. The phone call was to inform him that there was some movement seen from the Nate's biggest enemy.   Alessandro Romano    His life, since the day he knew the truth, didn't remain the same. Alessandro was his biggest enemy and Nate has done everything to keep his family safe and was successful in that but he could never afford have anyone close to him in fear of exposing them to the danger of his life. But Olivia made him wish that he didn't live any loose ends now. He was going to change that so that he could get a chance to know her and deprive his loved ones from all the danger. For that he needs to get in action right now. Nate started calling different concerned authorities and at last he called his right hand man, Mason to inform him about his plans. He also ordered mason to check the guest list and footage of the club.  Alessandro Romano, it’s time to end this game and this time it will be final. With this thought he started to look into all the files on Alessandro business and associates.   Olivia's POV  I am supposed to get my head back to my life; to my work and not to some handsome hunk I met in the club. Yeah keep yourself saying that. My mind and heart are having inner battle and this time I may side with my heart. Though Nathaniel looked like a person who is cold, does not care about anyone but with me he was warm, understanding but maybe I am wrong or right. Ugh!!! I need coffee to wake up from this.   Whenever I looked into his eyes, there was pain, worry and so many complex emotions and I want to be his safe place. But first I need to learn to accept by own emotions before I let someone in. My baggage of insecurities is making it impossible for me to see beyond these walls and for him I want to change that. I have met lots of people in my life but he was only one not demanding or attention-seeking and that sparked my interest. It won't harm for me to reply his message.   Have a good day, Nate.  Liv.   Third person's POV  There is a knock on Liv's door. Barbara was there to visit Liv before she lives for LA.    "Hey Liv."  "Hey, you OK?"  "Yeah, why wouldn't I?" Barbara inquired as she sat on the couch in the living room.  "No, just asking. So friend, huh?" Liv teased her with a grin on her face.   Liv has never seen her with any guy and yesterday Daniel and she were definitely more than friends.    "Yeah, it’s just complicated."   Liv always respected space and she knew Barbara will tell her if she needs to know anything. "Just know I will always be here." Liv assured her as she sat beside Barbara with a coffee. Barbara nodded.   "So how's Nathaniel Knight, huh?"   "He was cute." Liv said trying to find word to explain.  "Cute? Nathaniel Knight. The CEO of Knight empire is cute. Only you can say that." Barbara commented with a chuckle.  "Knight empire. He is the Nathaniel Knight. Oh god I am so stupid, he introduced himself and I did not even recognize him." Liv exclaimed remembering the look in his eyes when he said his name.   "Yeah but must say he was very different with you yesterday from his regular behavior. He is known as a ruthless billionaire and I will say that's the first he even sat with a girl in public place and let alone ask her number."  "How do you know so much about him?" Barbara raised her eyebrow while sipping her coffee. "Right, Daniel."   So, what she felt, saw was peculiar but she literally has no idea what to do with this newly arising feelings. She was still trying to register his real identity and was in a inner battle of whether to maintain a distance or try to know him. She checked her phone and zero message.   "You are staying New York?" Barbara asked pulling Liv out of her train of thought.  "Huh, yes... I mean no. I need to leave for Italy for dolce and gabbana show. I got an confirmation mail yesterday of getting cast."  "Woah, great. So busy month for you. Now I should get going I need to pick few things from my apartment before I will leave for airport."   "Yeah, Bon voyage" Liv hugged Barbara before she left for her apartment. She checked her phone once again and then started to binge watch Friends.
