Emma peeled her swollen eyes open when her alarm finally went off. Remembering she had fallen asleep in a man's arms, she quickly looked over to see a folded piece of paper on the pillow beside her. She slowly moved her hand to grasp the page, noting the cold sheets, and rolled on her back, rubbing her eyes to read what it said. I yearn to sleep, for night brings peace, but nights for me, I beg to cease. Nights bring terrors I wish to pass, yet in her arms, peace, at last. For once, I did not dread the night, Now, I pray to be her light. Washing away her darkness and fright, and bringing her dreams of such delight.
